Suicidegirls: Beauty Redefined - erotic art by AMMO - review by FAM4LIFE

Since 2005, I've been fascinated by Suicide Girls. I'm not a huge fan of porn, but I found something so classy, so alluring about Suicide Girls. It's not only the many talented, awesome girls that make up the site but also the style, rejection of conventional beauty and the pure art of the photo sets. This past month I finally gained the courage to become an SG Hopeful (my first set, "Turbo" goes up tomorrow night, actually). In this I have discovered a different aspect of Suicide Girls; they provide an online community much like Eden Fantasys with an array of forums and an invaluable constructive criticism model.
My love for SG aside, I had high expectations for this book. Simply the title, "Beauty Redefined" is very bold. Any book that makes such a claim should be exceptional and groundbreaking. Well, in typical SG style, this book exceeds expectations.
First off, this book is BIG. At 1 1/2" thick and just over 11" square, the size and weight could cause this book to be confused for a BDSM device. This slick, black hardcover is filled with nearly 400 pages of premium nude alternative art.
The book is essentially a catalog of hundreds of Suicide Girls arranged by location. I thought this was very clever as it was clear to see different SG "hotspots" throughout the US and the world. Each photo is a poster-quality, glossy, full-color print. Somehow, SG has devised a way to combine traditional pin-up style with edgy, contemporary nude art creating a completely unique and classy medium.
These photos are simply incredible. It's one thing to see these girls on a computer screen, but in print it seems so much more natural and fitting for the SG style.
I honestly hoped for more background and history on Suicide Girls to be included in the book, but it is 98% pictures. That is probably my only suggestions, but it in no way makes the book any less amazing.
I'm really surprised that this book doesn't cost more. It's very well made hardcover with high quality prints from cover to cover. This book will remain a valuable part of my library for years to come!
