Crash course in playing with toys!

For such a small book, I expected it to be lacking in thorough information or just be another one of those books that gives incredibly boring and useless advice. I was incredibly surprised! This book taught me a lot, even though I already knew a lot about toys. It's great for just about anyone looking to learn about toys.

Content / Style / Audience

This book is great for anyone looking to get into sex toys, no matter what your relationship statuses or sexual preferences are. This book has great advice for just about anyone, from married women, to lesbians. This book is geared towards those just starting to explore the world of sex toys, to those looking to brush up on their knowledge and learn a little more.

Dr. Allison takes you through a basic crash course of sex toys and pleasure. The first chapter is dedicated to how to introduce sex toys to your lover, which is something that a lot of women struggle with. The next stop is a quick anatomy lesson covering erogenous zones on both men and women. Then she goes into how to set the mood and get ready for a steamy love session whether you're alone, or with a partner. She covers all the types of lubricants in a very informative manner by explaining their material compatibility, pros, cons, and best uses. In the next chapters, she explains all different types of dildos, vibrators, anal toys, harnesses, light bondage equipment and more! She even has a chapter at the end explaining all of the different accessories you can find for things like the Hitachi. The toys featured are still pretty relevant to the times and widely available, as more of an overview of each type is given than the products themselves.

But don't get me wrong, this isn't a cut and dry overview of toys. The book also contains a large amount of pretty, cartoon style illustrations. She also discusses how to position your toys for solo use and use with a partner whether male or female. Even though I'm a toy veteran, I was still highly entertained and found this book to be incredibly interesting.

I still like this book, but not because I found it incredibly useful or anything. I just really like the author! I plan on doing sex education, so this will be a great place to start. Advanced users may find this book a little below their skill lever. Overall, it's a good starting point for those interested in sex toys.

It should be easy to find elsewhere! I loved this little book! We do still have some of Dr. Allison's other books on here.
