I tried so hard to get into this book. While some of the advice was good, honestly it really just didn't sit well with me. Even after reading other reviews, I thought this book would be perfect. Perfect was too high of an expectation. It bounced around and spent time flipping from science to actual experiences. Some parts seemed a little forced for me, reading the stories about Liz's friends and doctors' sciences for why we do the things we do. It walked you through the journey of love and sex, and why we choose to do crazy things we sometimes regret later. Some parts seemed too full of information while other parts seemed to have less. While reading this book, all I could think about was "hmm, this doesn't sound like me." Maybe I put too much expectations on another person's journey, granted it was well written, researched, and biologically speaking, accurate, it just wasn't what I expected.

I will give the book some credit, it did make me think and appreciate what I have and where I had been. I don't have any regrets in any of the choices I have made, now I just have a little more of an understanding as to why I made them.

I think that some of these stories would be helpful with the advice given if they didn't bounce around like they did. I felt like my issues with trust and love and why I do the things I do weren't as different from others, but some of the stories made me think that my issues were trivial.

While this book took me a long time to get through and read, I would still recommend it to others because what works for me may not work for someone else and vice versa. So, take the time and read it.

I still enjoy this book. I've been reading it when I need a boost, and I'm starting to like it even more than I did before.
