I have been interested in trying new sex positions for a while. Usually, I will just look up different positions on web sites, but for $10, I felt this was cheap enough to give it a try.

I definitely have to say, I expected the book to be slightly larger. The cover measures just under 6 inches high by just under 5 inches wide. I’ll admit I was disappointed when I opened the box and saw the book. However, the content definitely makes up for the size.

The book is hard cover with a book jacket. It was written by Siobhan Kelly, author of The Wild Guide to Sex and Loving and The Sexy Bitch's Book of Finding Him, in 2005. Its 96 pages are all a thick paper, closer to cardstock than to the typical paper books are published with. The text is very easy to read, with lots of pictures throughout to help explain each position. Not every position has a picture, but it seems they have pictures for the ones that may be more difficult to get an idea of with just text. The pictures are pretty tasteful for pictures of people having sex; however there is no variety in their sizes or anything. Like, there aren't any plus sized women or anything. Everyone appears to be pretty fit and flexible.

There are 11 chapters of sex positions: woman on top, man on top, side by side, sitting down, standing, "sexplosion", rear entry, anal sex, simultaneous oral sex positions, Kama Sutra, and advanced positions. Each chapter is made up of several sex positions, each one varying in the amount of pleasure it gives each partner and difficulty. They layout for each position is a description of the position, the pros of the position (for example, allows breast or clitoral stimulation), the cons (like difficult to master) and suggestions of variations to the position. Of course, you can make your own variations for each position, as well. I found their suggestions helpful.

Out of the book's 50 sex positions, all are usable by different sex partners. Some may or may not be usable by same sex partners, depending on the situations and any toys they may have. I would think at least the anal and simultaneous oral positions, which are not all terribly too remarkable, would be useful for these couples. Honestly, the sections on anal and simultaneous oral only have a few positions, like the basic 69 position. The rest of the sections seem to have much more in them.

Overall, I found the tips throughout the book to be useful, since I already felt like I had used or already knew of a lot of the positions. I liked being able to read about a position, then read if it would work for couples with significant differences in height, weight, and flexibility. My boyfriend and I are the same height with him only outweighing me by maybe 20 pounds at the most, so finding a position that works best for a couple with a similar height and weight would be better than blindly trying some that may not even work well for us.

A definite pro to the size of the book is the ease of hiding it. A small book can very easily be hidden in an underwear drawer without taking up much room at all.

After reviewing other sex books that had sections on positions, I'd definitely have to say this provides way more information on those. Other books seemed to brag about having "TONS" of sex positions for every couple, then would just have a few basic ones that I am sure most people have already heard about. Each position is unique and seems to provide a different level of satisfaction from the rest. I am planning on trying out a different position in the book every time I am with my boyfriend. I will probably publish a follow up review with the results.
