extremely useful review
Do you have an anus, you know, that hole in between your butt cheeks? Of course you do, 99% of all human beings do! So this book is for you, even if you do not like anal play in your sex life. Why you ask? Because this book is not just about anal sex or toys in your ass, it is also about how to keep your pelvic muscles tone, how stress affects your intestinal tract and so, so much more. Honest, this is the best book on health of any kind I have read for a long, long time.

The fourth addition of this book is a paperback with 237 pages. The cover is made out of good thick stock with a gloss finish. The pages are good stock as well and after reading the book three times I have not seen any problems with the binding. It seems like a high quality book that should hold up for years. On the front cover along with the title, there is only a picture of a buttocks taken from the side. You can only see the top, rounded portion and some of the legs. If not for "Anal Pleasure & Health" in a bold font, this could easily be read anywhere. Also note, the cover is now different from the cover shown on the product page. Here's a picture of the new cover.

The following is the chapters you will find. One thing about this book, you need to follow it from beginning to end as one chapter builds on the previous. Even though I knew much of the info covered, I never once felt the need to skip chapters, Jack writes so well, I thoroughly enjoyed ever chapter.

Illustration List
These include; Positions for anal self-examination, Anatomy of pelvic organs and muscles, Internal and external anal sphincter muscles, Anatomy of the rectum, Effects of angle of entry on rectal insertion, Basic design of a butt plug and Positions for anal intercourse. All of these are drawn illustrations.

Introduction: Eyewitness to change
In this section he talks about; Anal Awareness & Relaxation Workshops, Aids Crashes the Party, Going Mainstream? and What's New in the Fourth Edition?

1. What Is Anal Pleasure
In this chapter Jack talks about the hows and the whys and the prevalence in the United States.

2. Confronting the anal Taboo
Social functions of the anal taboo and the anal taboo in the helping professions.

3. How to use this book
How the book is designed to be read from start to finish, each chapter draws off the last.

4. Looking and Touching
This chapter includes; the anal opening, Experience and Response and Personifying the Anus.

5. Beneath the Skin
Jack provides some great diagrams of the anus and pelvic muscles and how to use them.

6. Mind and Body
This chapter helps you to understand how the anus and emotions interact. This can be an eye opening chapter, like we all know; relaxation is key to any kind of anal play, right? Well just think about stress and how that could limit your pleasure.

7.Inside the Anus
We learn about voluntary muscle control, crucial for any kind of anal play, not to mention good rectal health. Jack also talks about enemas, douching and lubrication.

8. Anal Eroticism
Including the anus in masturbation fills this chapter.

9. Discovering the Rectum
Mapping its shape and sensations: Topics include fisting and introducing a butt plug.

10. Attitudes Towards Rectal Stimulation
Confronting Psychological and Cultural Blocks: Included are; Feces, Homophobia, Missing the taboo and drugs and anal pleasure.

11. Mutual Exploration
Sharing anal pleasure with a partner: Choosing a partner, the nice person syndrome and rimming.

12. Anal Intercourse
Enjoying it safely and comfortably: What is anal intercourse and Condom Sense.

13. Realms of power
Probing Interpersonal Dynamics: Symbols of power, Eroticizing Power and Power and anal Intercourse.

14. A Lifetime of Anal Pleasure
Integrating and sustaining your discoveries: Staying in touch, Who When and How, Aging and Anal pleasure and Honoring Erotic Preferences.

At the end of the book there is an appendix that includes health problems involving the anus and rectum. Lots of good info here such as Aids, HIV and other STD's, making safe sex work, intestinal infections and even finding a physician or alternative practitioner.

There are also references and resources, an index and info about the author, Jack Morin.

Jack includes story's from his "Anal Awareness Workshops" and intensive doctoral research. There are lots of first hand accounts from participants of the workshops as well. Every chapter is packed full of useful information and read very easily. It's almost like reading one of these reviews, he covers everything you may want to know and a bunch you might not have thought of.
Experience
I highly recommend this book to everyone, even if you do not care for anal play of any kind. Far too many people only wipe their ass after a BM without much thought about it. More often than not, these same people have constipation, diarrhea and other intestinal issues but do little about it. For this reason, among others, this is why I think everyone should have this book. So much knowledge can be learned that coincides with health in general.

For those looking into anal play and those that already enjoy this stimulating part of sex/masturbation, it is like a bible that can be referenced over and over.

Do not just think about it, order your book today, or at least place it at the top of your wish list. This is a must have, your anus will thank you.
