extremely useful review

This product, as stated, is a flavored lip balm. Used for moisturizing your lips and adding a touch of sweetness and scent, great for kissing or enjoying on your own. It also leaves a glossy shine on your lips and isn't sticky at all. The product lasts well, I didn't need to reapply frequently and the taste lingers nicely. It feels just like a regular lip balm going on. The best part is that it is double sided, so you can scoop some out of one side or the other depending on your mood or take a bit from the middle to mix the flavors!

The ingredients are all natural, except for the "flavor" portion which I assume is artificial flavoring. The flavor itself is definitely reminiscent of banana taffy or a banana milkshake rather than the fruit itself. It does contain castor oil, olive oil, beeswax, cocoa extract, and soybean oil. If you have any soy, chocolate, or nut allergies I would use with caution and possibly test the product on your skin somewhere like the crook of your elbow just to make sure you don't react badly. Please note that due to the beeswax content this is not a vegan-friendly product.

One important thing to note, though the risk is small, this is still an oil based lip balm. If you and your partner are using latex condoms and have applied this lip balm before performing oral sex there is a chance the oils could break down the latex in the condoms. Safety first!

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The texture is solid at room temperature and melts nicely when you rub your finger in it to apply. I prefer to scrape a tiny bit from the back of my fingernail though, but if you don't have longer nails just rubbing it with your finger will suffice. I would not advise dipping into it with dirty hands, so keep some hand sanitizer or wipes in your purse, by your nightstand, in your pocket, or where ever you plan to keep the product.

It will melt at higher temperatures so don't leave it in direct sunlight or in your car on a hot day, or by keeping it in your pocket for too long. If it does melt, stick it in the fridge and it will solidify again. The two flavors may merge together if it melts but it will not affect the quality of the product if this does so.

It does not feel sticky, a little greasy due to the oil content but that makes for a nice lip moisturizer in my opinion. I am not a fan of petroleum based lip products since they seem to dry my lips out even more. This does not contain petroleum. A nice light, natural gloss is left on your lips when applied but no color is added. It is completely clear. I would use this as a stand alone lip balm, not as something to add over top of a colored lipstick.

Taste / Aroma

The taste and smell of this is delicious. I LOVE banana anything so I was excited to try it. The chocolate and banana together remind me exactly of a milkshake. If you've ever been to the fast food burger restaurant Steak N' Shake, they have a side-by-side milkshake where you can combine two flavors. This is actually what prompted me to purchase this since I love the chocolate banana side by side shakes. I am not disappointed at all. It is a milkshake in a tin.

This is definitely an artificial candy banana flavor though, it does not taste like the fruit itself. The chocolate half of the balm tastes as described, chocolaty. They combine nicely. The taste is fairly strong compared to other lip balms I have tried. 30 minutes after applying I licked my lips and there was still a faint flavor. It wasn't overpowering though and would make for wonderful sweet kisses between you and your partner(s). Just make sure they like banana though! There are three other flavors and I want to try them all.
    • Smells good
    • Strong taste

The product lasts fairly well for a mostly natural based lip balm. It stays on (if you can resist licking it off yourself) or will be absorbed by your skin. What I like best about the product is the size of the tin. It is huge and will last me a long time. Much bigger than I expected, which is great, because it is bit pricey for a lip balm.
    • Feels natural
    • Long lasting
    • Absorbs into the skin nicely

The product comes packaged in a metal tin with a sticker on the top and bottom. The top label has the flavor and has a cute picture of a carnival type setting as well as says "lip balm". The bottom has a list of ingredients. It is a .75 oz/23g tin, which is fairly large for a lip balm. The tin comes in a small square box with a brief description of the product and the brand name, Cosota Nostra Confectionery. It is also made in the U.S.A.
    • Easy to use / dispense
    • Travel friendly
    • Would make a nice gift

I confess that I am a cosmetics junkie. I'm willing to try any new makeup, lip balm, lipstick, foundation, just about anything. This has become one of my new favorites and I want to try another flavor. While I usually prefer a minty flavored chapstick, my trusty Burt's Bees peppermint lip balm, I keep this in my purse too when I'm in the mood for something sweet. It also helps stem down sugary snack cravings. A taste is enough to satisfy me as I'm trying to adjust to a healthier diet.
Follow-up commentary
I amtill loving my lip balm. When this runs out I'll be trying a different flavor. The tin is enormous though so I might not run out for quite a long time. It has kept my lips happy and moisturized in this dry heat and still tastes great. I usually take a bit of each flavor and allow them to mix but each side is tasty on its own too.

Super yummy, if you like lip balm then you've got to try this! It is definitely worth it.

Great review. While this banana sounds nice, the cherry cordial sounds fantastic. I'll have to give it a try.

This sounds so yummy. I want to try them all. I'm afraid I'd be licking my lips way too much though. Might give off the wrong impression... XD
