Cooling, Silky Soft..but PU is it stinky!
Generally I love the smell of cucumbers, and I also love the smell of mint. Conceivably that should make the scent of this Beyond Cooling lotion perfect for me. However, it turns out that I really can't stand the smell. Otherwise though it's an awesome lotion, the smell though makes it not nearly worth the price to me, and I won't be ordering again.

Pros
feels awesome on the skin, cools the skin nicely
Cons
I hate the smell
Beyond Cooling is an light yet incredibly moisturizing lotion from Jimmyjane. It's great for those that love massages but don't like to use oils. There's no greasy residue, just a soft and clean feeling left on the skin. There is a slight cooling effect from the lotion, but it's not immediate. Instead it's a light cooling feeling that starts after it's been applied. If you're in a room with a fan this feeling is greatly intensified.
The lotion in theory would make a wonderful gift. Jimmyjane has beautiful packaging, very simplistic and clean. They always have cute little sayings, on the bottle this one says "squeeze me". I say that it's a great gift only in theory because there is one aspect of this toy that unfortunately really turns me off, and it's a big one. It's the smell. It's a cucumber mint smell, which I thought I'd love. Thing is, it's a bit too much cucumber, it almost smells like over ripe cucumbers, and it's a bit too much for me. If you absolutely love the smell of cucumber this should be fine, but just be aware this is a pretty extreme cucumber scent and the mint does not mingle well with it.
If you can get past the scent though, it's fabulous. I really wish I liked the scent more because I love the feel of the lotion on my skin. It's even good for foot massages, which is not something I often find from a lotion as thin as this. The lotion goes on rather slippery, but it's not watery at all. If you use enough of it you'll get a decent length massage from it, but you have to use quite a bit, otherwise it absorbs too quickly. It sinks into the skin extremely well and I can't even begin to describe just how soft it leaves my skin. It's absolutely amazing, and if it weren't for the scent I'd buy a billion bottles even at the price that it is.
The cooling sensation is awesome, but it doesn't take affect while you're rubbing it into the skin, which is kind of a bummer. I had hoped that I could massage my husband with this and have him enjoy a thrilling cool sensation while getting his massage. As it turns out, it doesn't do that, at least not for us. But afterwards it feels quite nice and gives a gentle cooling sensation. It's not a tingly feel either, it's just an actual coolness to the skin. It's very relaxing and while it's autumn now I imagine that it will be even better in the summertime.
The ingredients in Beyond Cooling are fabulous. They're incredibly moisturizing and they're Paraben free, Glycerin free, free of artificial scents, not tested on animals and are pH balanced. Here's a full set of ingredients:

And usually cucumber mint is the kind of scent I would gravitate towards so I'm disappointed it didn't work out better!
And Darling Jen, it's ok it happens and it's Friday, that means everyone is sleepy! Unfortunately I still have two more days of my work week to go..but..anyway, thanks! And yea, cucumber mint is something that I normally like, but it just didn't work for me this time. Actually I kept smelling it on my hands last night after using it for a massage and I didn't want to wash it off since it makes my hands so soft..but it got to the point that I couldn't take it anymore!
