I will say right now that these clamps are not for beginners. Like, seriously. If you are wanting to delve into the world of nipple play and/or pain play, then I suggest that you try a pair of vibrating nipple clamps, rubber nipple clamps, or even nipple suckers to get introduced to it, and then work your way up to these. They squeeze TIGHT and can (and most likely will) get tighter as you keep them on. They work, and they work well. Anywhere you want to clamp and are physically able to clamp will work with these, although there is a chain attached that makes them perfect to use on nipples.

The smooth and cold metal provides a harsh grip, one that will have you begging for mercy in no time. On the clipping part, there are rubber beads, so the "bite" of the clamp is not as harsh as other models. The clamps only open to 3/4", so if your nipples are any bigger than that, then you might have to clip behind your nipples and move the clamps forward as I have.

Traditional Japanese clover clamps will always be one of my favorite kinds of nipple clamps. Just by looking at them, you can tell that they are unforgiving, and they pack a punch (or bite, I should say). The clamps are very easy to open and close, but the mechanism might get stuck if you try and open them too wide. The chain itself is 12.5", so as long as the two points that you want to clamp are within that distance from each other, then you're fine. As far as nipple clamps go, these are actually pretty comfortable in terms of weight.

As JohnPaul, the Pope from Kink.com, has said, the more you pull on clover clamps, the tighter they get...and he's right. I wanted to put his theory to the test and soon learned my lesson of always trusting the professionals. As you pull on them, the mechanism that allows them to open and close will actually tighten. For a beginner user, that might be too overwhelming, and it can actually be painful. If you are new to the world of BDSM and looking for a pair of nipple clamps, then I suggest that you look elsewhere. These are great for advanced users, but I know that they would be too painful for someone that is just starting out and not used to pain. As an advanced user, I think that the pain is something that's enjoyable, and I know how to process it.
