Shiny lip balm - lip balm discontinued by Not Soap Radio - review by Beck

The shiny lip balm is a thick petrolatum based lip gloss. It comes in a 1/3 oz container with a twist off top. There is no brush to spread the gloss, so either you purchase a brush or you use your finger. Lip balm is used to keep your lips from drying, cracking, and from becoming chapped. This is a lip balm for those who like more oil based lip balms that are really moisturizing and slick on your lips. The lips balm in colorless with an extremely mild scent, so those looking for color and a smell for everyone to detect will want to look else where.

The ingredients list is short, but those with allergies to ingredients will want to look over the list. There is a sticker on the bottom of the lip balm that notes the ingredients.

This lip balm is my ideal lip balm. It is like melted chapstick or antibiotic ointment. The balm feels oily and thick. This oily feel does not leave anything greasy behind. It spreads really easy on your lips. There is no sticky feel to the balm at all. Once it hits your lips it feels very slick and smooth. When you stick your finger in the lip balm a glob comes out of the container very easily. The glob will stay in place and when you spread it on your lips it stays in place.

Not Soap Radio says that this lip gloss can vary from batch to batch with scents. They tend to stick to citrus, candy , and fruit. My lip balm only has a slight scent of menthol to it. There is also a lemony smell to it. This smell is very slight and only detected when I stick my nose up to the container.

The taste is very slight. I can't really tell what it is, other than a sweet citrus flavor.

Shiny lip balm leaves your lips really shiny when you first apply it, but after 20-30 minutes your shine is gone. If you constantly use your lips (talking, eating, drink, rubbing, licking, etc..)this lip balm will need to be reapplied often. I happen not to mind that I need to reapply it because I love the consistency of this lip balm. I find this lip balm hydrating, but my lips are well taken care of and rarely chapped, so for those with chapped lips you might not find this to be a good moisturizer. This is the only downfall for this lip balm, in my opinion. Should you want to remove Shiny lip balm a dry cloth will do it, but it might require a wet cloth.

Petrolatum- a semisolid hydrocarbon from petroleum.

Cottonseed oil- extracted from seeds off a cotton plant and is used to condition.

Flavor- what is added to give scent/flavor.
