Lemon-Cookie Vanilla

This strong-scented body butter smooths onto the skin with ease and really helps to calm dry, itchy skin. The scent is much more lemon-y than I thought it would be, but it still smells very summery and fun. If you're looking for a lotion that doubles as a perfume, this would work great. The scent can still be detected strongly several hours after it has been applied, which may be a pro or a con depending on if you like strong-scented products. I highly recommend this lotion.

Use

This is a very smooth lotion that feels very thick when you apply it. The instructions on the bottle say that you are supposed to apply it after you bathe and when your skin is still slightly damp, and this may be make it cover more area. It is great for dry, patchy skin areas, especially if you have trouble in the winter because of the dry air.

If you have naturally dry skin, this is also a nice lotion for every day use. I personally wouldn't use it on my face, but everywhere else it feels great. You also can apply it as a light perfume if you don't want too overpowering a scent. If you normally wear perfume this may interfere with that scent, so it is something to keep in mind.

I like using this on my hands before I go out, as well as on my upper arms. It is also to use after you shave your legs to give the skin a luxuriously smooth feel. Both my mum and I love this lotion, so I would say that it is suitable for all ages and people.

Here's the list of ingredients in case you have any known allergies, but it is pretty similar to most body butter products;

Water, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Fruit, Helianthus Annus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Glycerin, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG 100 Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cyclomethicone, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Buttter, Fragrance, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Copernica Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Xanthum Gum Powder

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

Inside the container it feels very thick, almost like Crisco. When you scoop some onto your finger it retains it's shape and is still very thick. When you spread it onto your skin it thins out and becomes softer as it absorbs your body heat and spreads evenly over an area. If you leave this in the car or heat it up it will melt, so you should avoid melting it especially if it isn't sitting flat on the base.

I really enjoy how this feels spreading over my skin. It's thick and it feels very quality. It only takes several seconds of rubbing for it to absorb into the skin, and after it is absorbed it doesn't leave any residue on the skin. It doesn't leave any grease that can rub off on clothes like some lotions I have used, which I really appreciate.

I would compare this to equal or greater quality than the Bath and Body Works body butters I have tried, mainly because it leaves no residue on my skin.

Taste / Aroma

I tried this on my skin and had my mum try it as well before I looked at the aroma. In the bottle is smelled like citrus-y pina colada, with a hint of vanilla. As soon as I put in on my skin, however, the scent changed from creamy to more tang-y.

Both my mum and I had fun guessing the scents and to us it smelled strongly like lemon-cookie. The lemon and the scent of verbena were very strong, and the creamy undertones of vanilla remained from the bottle. By doing this smell test before I looked at the description on Eden I can say that the coconut and the musk fail to stand out on my skin.

The definition of the scent is: coconut, lemongrass, verbena, musk, the tiniest bit of vanilla

I tasted this on my skin and it is a bit bitter. It wasn't a terrible taste, but I wouldn't recommend tasting this if you don't have to. It also isn't meant for ingestion due to some of the ingredients like glycerin.

Overall, this is a very summer scent that lingers for several hours after application. Putting on another lotion lessens the scent, but if you really dislike it soap and water remove it. I really highly recommend this if you're into tangier, summery smells.

Performance

Even after licking the swatch on my arm it's very soft and smooth. This will leave your skin soft and smooth all day, and will also give off a scent for several hours. I found that after washing and drying my hands I did need to reapply it, but this is normal for lotions. I believe that if you plan to apply it to your legs of some area that won't be washed often after your shower, it will keep your skin soft and plush until you wash it off in your next shower.

This is really great for the winter when many people have dry, flaky skin. The scent makes it a great addition to any restroom, and I will be purchasing more to use on my hands and legs after I run out.

Packaging

This came in a heavy, plastic bottle. The container itself is clear and you can see the cream through it, and is has a blue sticker advertising the brand, stating the ingredients, and how to use it. The label is very aesthetically pleasing and mine has seashells, waves, and bubbles bordering all of the print.

The lid is made of a heavy, black plastic and has it's own label. It states the name of the title and a blurb about wishing that one was "Island hopping" instead of wherever the reader is currently located. The text has a green and blue color scheme, and a border of yellow shells. It screws on very tightly, but if you allow the product to melt it may seep out of the sides. It also takes two hands to open because of how large the container is.

The packaging would make this an awesome gift. I mean who wouldn't rather be island hopping than sitting at home on a computer, trying to write a review? (Just kidding, I love writing reviews)

Experience

While I was hopping that this scent would be different, I still really enjoy it. The scents I usually enjoy are Jasmine/Vanilla based (Carried Away/ Secret Wonderland from BBW), maybe because often other scents will give me a headache. This scent, though not what I usually wear, will still be getting quite a bit of use from me.

I really like to use this on my legs after I shave them to make them especially smooth and silky. It really helps to make me feel sexy. While this doesn't smell juvanile, it may not be the most professional scent. It reminds me of summer and swimming, which is always nice in the cold winter!

I am giving this product a 5 out of 5 stars because of the quality you get, the quantity, and the sheer fact that it doesn't leave a greasy residue on my skin. If you smell it in the bottle and dislike it, I would encourage you to try it again after applying it because the scent changes.
