Smell Like A Fresh Corona

This silky and velvety souffle will moisturize your skin with the best of them, and leaving you smelling deliciously citrusy. Whether you detect lemon or lime is up to your nose, but it will definitely keep your skin from getting dry, cracked, or flaky. The strong scent may be a bother to some, but the lotion itself is a definite winner.

Use

If you're longing for a tropical vacation, somewhere warm where you can sip on fruity drinks and smell the ocean in the breeze, then you can come hang out with me and we can long together. Or you can lock yourself in the bathroom with a space heater, a pile of sand, this lotion, and a bowl of salt water (to go in front of the heater and simulate the "ocean" scent). Ok, maybe you don't have to go quite that far, but if you enjoy most "tropical" things you'll probably enjoy this. There's definitely a citrus hint to it, but whether you get lemon or lime depends on your nose. Either way, it's a good solid moisturizing product that will leave you smelling citrusy when you're done.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The texture of this one confused me at first. I was expecting something a bit more liquidy or lotion like, but this is almost hard. Well, not hard really, since it's really easy to dip in and get what you want out of it. Being a souffle, it should be more like a heavy whipped cream, and it feels heavier than that to me. In any case, it scoops out easily, will stay where you put it, and won't spill. It doesn't feel sticky or greasy or oily either, which is very nice. It goes on smooth and velvety, and sinks in nicely.

Taste / Aroma

I have the Island Hopping scent, which the manufacturer describes as coconut, lemongrass, verbena, musk and the tiniest bit of vanilla. The friend I received this from at first seemed to think overwhelmingly coconut, and then settled on lemon pledge. My husband, mother, and I all think it smells like lime. To my husband, it's "like taking a swig from a Corona with lime and getting the bottle to about here (bottle opening being about 8 inches from the face at that point)." To me, it makes me think more of guacamole because I use a lot of lime juice in mine. It's got a strong enough scent that it can easily take over for a perfume, although you won't be able to smell it really from more than a few feet away.

Performance

I have longer nails, so I normally try to pass on things that involve me dipping my fingers into jars. However, for those of you in the same predicament, you can always dip in using your knuckles instead to save accidentally eating lotion or whatever later on if you chew on your nails at all. After use, your hands will have that "just lotioned" feeling for a short while, but it wasn't any worse than most other lotions that I've used and unlike many others didn't make me feel like I needed to wipe it off right away.

A little bit really does go a long way. My friend was able to use this a handful of times, and I've used it a handful of times so far and it doesn't even look like I've made a dent in it at all. For me, a relatively thin quarter sized dollop was enough to cover each leg, and then each of my arms plus my chest and sides. After less than 5 minutes, I no longer felt like I had just lotioned in that I didn't feel any kind of residue, but I did feel like my skin had been moisturized. The scent was strong enough to last most of the day and even overnight some, although it was much more subtle in the morning.

Packaging

The jar is a nicely sized 8 ounces. The lid screws off and there's a seal that you can either save to keep the lotion from contacting the lid or toss to avoid accidentally dropping its lotion covered self anywhere you don't want lotion. The whole thing has a light airy summery vibe to me, with lots of blues and other "tropical" colors. There's nothing risque about it at all, and you could easily travel with it or leave it out in the open and nobody would be any wiser.

There are instructions on the back for "how to make this happen," as well as ingredients which are listed as water, butyrospermum parkii (shea butter) fruit, helianthus annus (sunflower) seed oil, glycerin, glyceryl stearates, peg 100 stearate, cetearyl alcohol, cyclomethicone, theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter, fragrance, phenoxyethanol, caprylyl glycol, copernicia cerifera (carnauba) wax, and xanthan gum powder. Most of the ingredients seem to be relatively on par with most other lotions. I have a report that it's not horrible on sensitive skin, but if you have really sensitive skin try it at your own risk.

Personal comments

Here are a few pictures for you, one of the jar upside down to show how well it stays in the jar, and one of some of the cream on my knuckle to try and show you texture:

Experience

When my friend first got this, she said that she might want to send it to me, but she wasn't sure yet. I said "Ok, I love coconut scented things!" She got back with me a few days later and said it was mine, and shipped it on out. I get it after hearing her say it smells like lemon pledge, and discover that to me, it smells like lime. Well, my husband loves it, it's really grown on me, and I think it's a fantastic lotion all around. I can recommend this one for those who are fans of citrus scents, but nothing more specific just because of the difference in what a few of us took it as. As something to moisturize with, if you don't like this scent definitely try out one of the other ones then. It's a great moisturizer.
