Matte My Lips With Grape Flavor Yum!

This product smells really good, and goes on silky smooth. It looks clear on lips, and feels really well against them. The pot is not to appealing to it, but don't let that fool you from not trying this product.

Use

The Not Soap Radio Matte Lip Balm would be best if wore over some lip gloss, alone it did not work for me. It also did not last long. It goes on smooth and has a nice clear finish to it. This also made my lips peel really badly after I used it alone. This was my second Not Soap Radio lip balm to try and I did not find it gave me the same results as the other. It was also really light on my lips. I tried to take a pic, like I normally do, but it just would not come out right. It is a all natural product which is really nice.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

With this Matte I decided to use my lip brush instead of using my fingers. I tried with my fingers and it took a little longer to get out of the tube. It looks really thick in the container but once you put it on your finger or a brush it is not. It does look a little oily as well, but that is due to the product being made up of a lot of oils. On the lips it spreads really well. The color of this goes on clear.

After a little bit of sitting there, I would say in 20-25 minutes it absorbed into my lips, the only down fall I had is that it left my lips chapped. But while it was on it did not feel bad at all.

As with any product you should try it before using to make sure your not allergic.

These are the ingredients:
Amygdalus Dulcis (Almond) Oil, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Beeswax, Persea Gratissima (Avacado Oil), Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Flavor, Tocopheryl (Vitamin E)

Taste / Aroma

The jar that I received was not the same as the stock photo; my lip balm was of a light purple color. This product is supposed to taste like grape, but to me it tasted like an imitation of a cheap grape candy. With this one I really did not lick my lips too much, and that is crazy because with the Cocoa butter one I did.

When I open it up the scent was not strong to me at all. When applied on my lips I can smell a light smell not to strong of a grape scent. After a while the scent faded away.

Performance

The Matte Balm lasted about 20-25 minutes for me. I don't know if it was because my lips were dry and it absorbed it up really fast, but I thought it would last longer than that. I did smoke and find that it came off on my cigarette. Did not really drink too much but when I did it came off a tad.

I may use this over some lip gloss, again it made my lips peel when it absorbed into them. Then again maybe I will just give it a try day by day to see if there is any difference, because it worked for the dryness of my lips when I put it on. To apply I would use a makeup brush for the lips or some q tips.

You can remove this with some soap and water, if you wanted to get it off right away, otherwise if you let it sit and wait it will absorb nicely into the lips.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Dries up too fast
    • Feels natural

Packaging

The Matte Lip Balm comes in a jar that is 1/3 oz. It is not the prettiest of some of the other Not Soap Radio products. It has a green sticker on it that says Matte Lip Balm and has a picture of some purple lips. With the Not Soap Radio logo on it. On the back it has a list of the ingredients on a white sticker.

There were no instructions with this lip balm. It is a nice size that you can give this as a gift. This would fit in your back pocket, a purse, or a travel size bag for makeup while traveling. Just be careful to put it to where it would not melt on you since it does contain oil ingredients.

Personal comments

This is my second product from Not Soap Radio, and the only problem I had was with it absorbing fast. Otherwise it smells wonderful, tastes great, and I will keep giving it a try to make sure it does not chap my lips again. I am still enjoying the Not Soap Radio line and am on a quest to get them all.
Follow-up commentary
I have only used this one more time since I have got it. I put it over some lipstick when I went out. It still drys up on the lips fast even with it on lipstick and you know how I hate my lips to chap.

Great review hun! It doesn't really sound like a product for me though if it leaves your lips "peely" because honestly, I can't stand when my lips get like that. I have pretty dry lips too so I need something that moisturizes them and doesn't leave them looking chappy and gross. It's hard to find products that do this : ( Even though it's not for me, you did an excellent job at reviewing. Thanks!

How strange that it made your lips peel after it absorbed! I don't think I would like that very much. Thanks so much for explaining that, and for timing how long it took to absorb into your lips! Those details really added a lot to your review.
