Not worth the after burn

This candle produces an oil that can be used for massages or simply moisturizing your skin. It is best to avoid intimate areas with the oil though.

I mainly use this in the evenings when I'm working at my desk. I like the soft glow effect this gives off. I've used this a few times for date night and it was a nice addition to the place.

Once the candle has melted down, you can extinguish the flame and use the oil according to the temperature you want.

The texture of the solid candle is slightly soft and feels creamy.

I find that the oil is light but has a slight tacky feel to it after you've rubbed it in; it doesn't feel like it absorbs completely. This can be ideal for massages but probably not as much if you're just going to use it to moisturize your skin.

I did notice that after a few uses, the oil didn't re-solidify as much and became thicker.

The only issue I had with this candle was the scent. I got this because of the scent profile which was lychee and lapsang. I'm familiar with both and even have a perfume that has both the scents that smells amazing. When I smelled this candle, the lapsang hit me first followed by a faint smell of lychee. I would not have had a problem had the candle not smelt like tobacco. This scent was inescapable and made me hesitant to use it.

If you're right in front of the candle when it's not lit and the wax is solid, there is a faint lychee scent. If the candle is lit, the oil just smells like burnt paper.

The candle burns evenly but I find that the oil leaves a slight sticky feel on the skin. The feeling of the oil mixed with the smell makes me feel nauseous and I have to scrub it off once I'm done with the massage.

The instructions state not to burn the candle all the way down so I was able to get about 35 hours out of this candle.

I think the scents of the Afterglow candles are what make them different. But in my experience, it doesn't make a difference. I am unable to smell the fragrance throughout the room.

I found the packaging sturdy enough that the candle arrived intact. But I found all the information included was a bit excess. Some of the information could have easily been omitted or not repeated throughout the packaging.



As for the actual candle and the ceramic container, I liked that it was simple. Although the oil is easy enough to dispense, I wish the spout on one end was a bit more narrow.
