showering with a candy cane

Shunga Bath and Shower Gel is a fun way to spice up a sexy shower. While the mint flavor wasn't nearly what I thought it would be, the scent was yummy as can be and made me feel like I was showering in a land of candy canes. It also allows you to have some fun in the shower without tasting soap when kissing or licking your partner.

extremely useful review
I couldn't wait to try my Shunga Bath and Shower Gel. The mail man had literally just dropped it off and I was racing up the stairs and telling my husband to get naked and meet me in the shower. I got the mint flavor because I love the scent and taste of mint. What could be better than a minty fresh husband??

When I poured some of the shower gel onto my pouf and started washing my husband's body with it the entire shower was filled with the scent of a candy cane. Even the steamy air in the shower felt and smelled minty. Since the Shunga bath and shower gel is kissable I tried kissing him after the gel was rinsed off. (You don't want to taste it while it's still sudsy…then you'll just taste soap) I was a bit disappointed by the taste factor. It's not very minty on the tongue; it barely has any taste at all. There was a bit of a cooling sensation on my tongue though, so I guess that's something. It also didn't taste like soap or soap residue and honestly that works for me. It's kind of a turn off for shower foreplay if you can't kiss or lick each other or have a bit of oral fun. So, while it wasn't very minty tasting it was still fun to have a mint filled scent in the shower and a non-soapy tasting husband. We also couldn't detect much of a minty taste after the shower when kissing each other's skin and the smell didn't linger then either.

Now, I didn't experience this but my husband said that the mint was so strong that it burnt his eyes just from being in the air, not from actual shower gel getting in his eyes. I didn't have that happen to me when I used it, so I'm not sure if maybe his eyes were just more sensitive to it. But, if scents normally sting or irritate your eyes then be careful with that. Also, another caution, this stuff contains glycerin. So if you're prone to the yeasty beasties use some caution not to get this on your lady bits. I normally am not sensitive to glycerin and my regular shower gel has it in it so Mike felt no need to be careful and avoid using it on me...all over. And I can tell you that the mint is also something that you probably don't want on your sensitive areas. It was definitely cooling in the shower but later after the shower it gave me a burning sensation. Luckily it went away that day but it wasn't fun while it lasted.

There are two other ingredients that might cause concern for some in the Shunga Bath and Shower Gel. First there is Cocamide DEA which is an allergen that can cause contact dermatitis if you have a sensitivity to it. Secondly this product also contains aspartame. For most people this should not cause an adverse affect but if you have sensitivities to aspartame you'll want to avoid this product as well.

There's quite a lot of shower gel in the bottle too, it's 16 oz. So, you don't have to just save this for special occasions. You can use the Shunga Shower gel every day if you'd like. My husband didn't feel as clean after using this shower gel as he does when using his regular stuff, and I didn't feel as moisturized. So, I think for the most part we'll be saving this for sexy shower time.
Follow-up commentary
I still like this as a way to spice up a shower with my husband. I don't use it as a daily shower gel because I don't feel as clean after using this as I do with other shower gels. It doesn't leave me feeling greasy or sticky afterwards, I just feel the need for moisturizer afterwards and my husband feels like there is a slight film on his skin. I have never experienced the "film" feeling, but I can definitely say my skin isn't exactly fresh after using it.

Heh. I love my fruity Shunga shower gel but now you've made me want to try the mint!

Just as an fyi, it also contains aspartame, so those with sensitivities to that should use care.
