Soft & Sensual, Not Lavender Scented

The Simply Sensual Luxe After Shave and Wax Powder was designed to help prevent irritation where you shave or wax. It can be used on legs, underarms, intimate areas, and anywhere on the body. This product can also be used to absorb moisture. I have the tendency to produce moisture in various areas of my body. Under my breast is one of my moisture prone areas. This was the main reason for my purchase.

When using this product to absorb moisture or prevent rashes/irritation, pat the powder puff lightly into the tub of powder, gently tap the puff on the corner of the plastic tub, and pat the powdered puff around the areas you’d like to protect or keep fresh. I suggest continued usage of the thin plastic barrier that came with this product. It will help prevent a powdery mess when you open the top.

The Simply Sensual Luxe After Shave and Wax powder was designed for all skin types, including those with sensitive skin. It does say that it’s not to be used on broken skin, avoid contact with eyes, do not inhale, and keep out of reach of children. Its intended audience is adults only.

I’ve grown fond of the Simply Sensual line. The costs of these products are fairly affordable, which is one of the reasons I was drawn to this line in the first place. A lack of scents is disappointing but the scents they do have smell nice. The After Shave and Wax powder advertises a Lavender scent; I’m not sure what the scent is but it’s not lavender.

The texture of this After Shave and Wax powder is a very fine and velvety powder substance. The best I can compare it to is a finely sifted powdered sugar. It’s a lightly lavender colored powder which is probably where the “fragrance” came in. It doesn’t smell like lavender, but it's light in lavender color.

Due to its fine consistency, it can easily spill or get on clothing and other objects when applying the product. When I pat the puff on my body, a very light cloud of dusty powder emerges into the air.

Carefully remove the cap from the tub to help prevent spilling the powder. I keep the plastic piece inside of the tub and continue to store my puff on the top. If you spill this powder, it can be easily cleaned up with a damp cloth.

I enjoy the way this feels on my skin. It’s a smooth and light feeling which doesn’t feel “heavy” on my skin. As I mentioned, I primarily use this as a moisture absorber. I have noticed that when I sweat in the areas this product is applied, it does leave a residue that needs washed off.

This product is not meant to be ingested. I’m assuming that it would have a horrible taste if consumed by mouth, possibly even dangerous side effects. I was not brave enough to taste this product.

Lavender is the scent specified on the product ordering page. However, this does NOT smell like Lavender. It does have a light floral scent, but I cannot compare it to lavender as I’ve had that scent in other products and it smells nothing like it. I can compare it to a scent from my childhood. My grandmother use to have several products for her daily use. Both of my grandmothers use to call it “Fixing up my face and using smell goods on my body”. Do you remember those scents when opening your grandmother's make up case or medicine chest? That is what the scent of this product reminds me of.

The Simply Sensual After Shower Shave and Wax powder arrived in a small plastic tub. Its simple design makes it easy to open the top by screwing the lid off. Inside, you will find a very soft powder puff on top of a sheet of hard plastic. The hard plastic has a small corner that lifts easily from the tub, exposing the fine powder beneath. You will be able to see the packaging contents in a picture above.

The wording on the package is in a tiny blue print which makes it difficult to read. The wording is discreet and not sexual at all. You can take this product during travel, and even leave out on the counter without worries that the kids or guests will cringe.

While the tub is small, its contents do go a long way if you don’t spill the powder. I wouldn’t mind seeing this in a larger sized tub.

I enjoy using this powder as a moisture absorbing agent. It works fairly well and lasts quite awhile on my skin. A minor issue is that there is a residue when that part of my body sweats. It needs to be washed off before applying more powder. As for the missing star on my rating, I removed a star for its lack of lavender scent as it claimed to have.

This product does make my skin feel softer when applied and I also plan to utilize this for its intended purpose as well. I'm just not sure that my husband would be pleased with the scent coming from my intimate areas.
