The Karma Sutra Oil of Love Strawberries & Champagne

Overall I was not very pleased with the Oil of Love by Karma Sutra. The oil itself is very sticky and had a syrup-like consistency. It does provide a unique warming sensation and gives off a delightful aroma of strawberries and champagne. However, when it comes to massage oil the most important factor is performance and how the oil feels as it gets rubbed into the skin. I used half the bottle giving a thirty minute massage and needed to re-apply more oil to my hands about every 3-5 minutes.

Use

The Oil of Love by Karma Sutra smells amazing and provides a warming sensation when applied. The intoxicating aroma truly smells like strawberries and champagne. However the texture was very thick and left my hands sticky. In other words, I would need to re-apply more and more massage oil because it dried up very quickly. I like the oily and wet feeling it initially gives off when first applied, I love the enchanting smell it provides, I love how it provides a warming sensation that can be felt for both parties, but I just couldn't get past the fact it was a very messy and sticky experience. Be prepared to wash your sheets following the massage because they will get very sticky.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The Oil of Love by Karma Sutra is thin in the sense that it's a liquid, an oil. However when pouring it out into my hands and onto my lover's body I noticed that the oil felt rather thick like I was rubbing in syrup. I thought it felt great initially simply because it smells terrific and warms your hands right up. But then I noticed I would need to constantly re-apply the massage oil over and over again because it would start to dry out and get sticky.

Taste / Aroma

The taste reminds me of cough syrup, not unbearable but not desirable by any means either. It doesn't hurt to add a playful kiss and give a little lick where the oil has been applied, but I wouldn't recommend drinking it out of the bottle or anything crazy. The aroma was my favorite part simply because the delightful smell can fill a room. The strawberries and champagne fragrance helps set the mood or ambiance.

Performance

The Karma Sutra Oil of Love massage oil gave off a delightful aroma, that's about all it had going for it. I thought when it came time to actually use the massage oil it left quite the mess. This was mainly because the Oil of Love by Karma Sutra had a very thick, syrup-like consistency. It dries up rather quickly and therefore needs to be constantly re-applied. This however causes your hands to get very sticky making it rather difficult and messy trying to do regular tasks such as turning down the volume on your television, turning on or off the light switch, locking or unlocking your door. Now most people would just say wash your hands before touching any of your nice stuff! Easier said then done when you don't have to walk across the room, open two doors in the process just to get to the upstairs bathroom sink, then turn on the faucet (oiling that up in the process, too). Bottom line, it's a very messy and sticky experience. Other then the warming sensation, regular baby oil works just as well and leaves half the mess.

Packaging

The bottle itself is made of glass with a screw tight lid, however, the product inside is very messy and naturally gets on the bottle. I was extremely pleased to find that the massage oil came in a hard metal leak proof tin for travel and storage.

Experience

Neither my partner or I were crazy about the Oil of Love by Karma Sutra. The warming sensation that the oil provides is shadowed by the fact it leaves such a mess. Anything you touch while using this massage oil will get ruined due to its overall thickness. You do not want to go to sleep immediately after giving or receiving a massage with this oil or else you will wake up in the middle of the night feeling extra gross and sticky. It can however be easily removed with a thorough wash with soap and water. My biggest complaint would be the fact you need to constantly re-apply the massage oil so its doesn't dry out or get sticky. The problem with this is that once you get it on your hands and need to keep re-opening and closing the bottle, the bottle itself will get very sticky and leave a mess. Even though this massage oil is thick when applied, it is fully capable of spilling out the container rather quickly if you are not careful.
