Treasure trove gift set - sensual kit discontinued by Kama Sutra - review by Cinnamon Chambers

The Treasure Trove gift tin is a beautiful, reusable tin that includes a regular sized grouping of products making this set an excellent value over purchasing the products separately. The shapes of the tins will vary from round to square versions. Kama Sutra is currently producing the square shaped tins shown on here, but Eden is only stocking the older round shaped tins. I prefer the art work on the round tins to the square ones. The decorative label is not painted on or sealed, it is just paper. To preserve the appearance of your tin do not use tape on it and store it where it is not likely to be damaged.

All of the tins are color coded to the scent you choose. The tangerine flavor comes in an orange hued canister with an orange pouch for the honey dust, the raspberry in tin with pink tones and a pink satin pouch and the strawberry is in a red package with a red bag for the honey dust. Inside each tin you will find flavored honey dust, stimulating pleasure balm, and oil of love. They are each sealed individually as is the tin for your protection.

Without a doubt the honey dust is my favorite product in the box. It is a light body powder that can be used daily to replace your current powder or for play with the feather applicator used as a tickler. The dust is lightly fragrant and it leaves a sweet taste on the tongue and lips. The powder is not sticky and does not stain. This product is not truly edible but it is kissable, meaning it gives the skin a wonderful taste and aroma after it is used. It comes in a plastic bag that is inside a satin bag. The plastic bag preserves freshness and keeps the powder from seeping through the weave of the fabric in the outer pouch.

The oil of love is a scented and flavored massage oil. It comes in a very nice glass bottle with a cork stopper. It is water based, latex safe and is not actually an oil. It can leave spots on white or light colored sheets. When tasting the skin after a massage I have not found any sort of oily feel or residue on my tongue. It can leave the skin a touch sticky but only if too much is applied and not thoroughly massaged in. Air blown on the skin where the oil was applied creates a warming sensation.

I will say that the pleasure balm has been the most difficult product in the tin to review. The canister of pleasure balm in the original Treasure Trove I received had nearly completely spilled in the tin. It was sealed, but had leaked profusely, leaving everything smelling like toothpaste. Touching the gel left a cooling sensation on my skin. The replacement one I was reluctant to use because it arrived unsealed. I opened it and it had a very strong medicinal odor to it and was darker orange than the first one. I applied a little to my hand and it produced a very intense numbing sensation. This one was more like a desensitizer than an enhancer. I did not taste this one since it was not sealed. With the third set, the pleasure balm had the same toothpaste scent and light minty flavor in addition to the actual listed flavor. It provided a cool, and tingly sensation to the skin. This product gets sticky fast and easy. I do not care for the taste of the tangerine pleasure balm at all. This is best used on the nipples, clitoris and penis. There was some prolonging when used on my partners penis. It does contain glycerin, and poses a slight risk for yeast infections.

The first and second samples I got were in round canisters. The third and separate balms I purchased were in tubes. Kama Sutra has advised me that they are only packaging this is tubes now. I prefer the tubes and there is a possibility that the canisters are at or nearing their expiration date.

This is a beautiful and tasteful gift set. I recommend it to anyone. Please be advised that sensual products, and especially edible ones have an expiration date. If you are ever in doubt please contact the manufacturer with those questions and concerns. Remember that these are not slather on and lick off edible products, but they are intended for sensual massages that will leave the skin flavored and sweet when kissed for what comes after the massage.

Eden's customer service through out this review process has been a really big help. In the first tin the pleasure balm had spilled in the entire package. In two days the replacement was at my door. I was promptly sent a return shipping label to send the original product back. When I got the replacement tin, it was opened and so were the products. This made me a little uneasy about use since they are products that would be ingested or absorbed. It was confirmed that it was opened by Eden to insure this set was not damaged inside as the first one was. They went the extra mile and it shows!

With the questions that arose about the contents of the pleasure balms being different gels in each canister, and the packaging, Kama Sutra was also top notch. They were very kind and helpful with all the questions I had and also provide fast and accurate shipping.

I have tried all three flavors that the Treasure Trove comes in. By far the strawberry is my favorite. The honey dust is to die for, the oil of love is a natural tasting strawberry product that is sweet and tart, and the pleasure balm is best in strawberry. Second on my list would be the raspberry. The oil of love is not as nice in this scent but the honey dust is splendid and the pleasure balm is tolerable. Tangerines and cream is my least favorite. The flavor of the pleasure balm is terrible. The honey dust is nice but it is a more light creamy taste and scent with only light tones of tangerine. The oil of love my favorite of the tangerine products but it does not have an orange flavor or smell at all. It is a very sweet smell and taste that is like cotton candy.

I love using the Kama Sutra brand products, not just for play but most of them for every day wear. Since finding the Kama Sutra brand on here they have replaced Bath and Body Works as my brand of choice for lotions and potions.
