For sexy time without the knee pain

While I do find this to be a useful piece of furniture it's not without it's flaws. I think we've only used it about a half dozen times which is very low considering how often we have sex. That's both because it's not really spontaneous to use and because we don't always both feel in the mood to use it.
Published:
Pros
It's strong and you can achieve new or somewhat different positions while using it.
Cons
It can be uncomfortable for both partners in various positions. It can be tricky to assemble.

Use

This product is intended to be used by couples who want to have less painful sex. I chose it because my man and I both have bad knees. The box says that it can help take the strain off of your thighs and help you enjoy weightless sex.

Design / Craftsmanship / Material

This stool consists of a steel frame and high strength TPU. That's just a fancy way of saying that it consists of some metal poles with two pieces of plastic pulled over them.

The metal poles are about 26" in width from one to the other. The metal poles measure about 13" from the floor in height. Each plastic strip is 5" wide.

There is a 300lb weight limit so keep that in mind if you are around that size.

Performance

Initial Thoughts
I couldn't believe that I was buying sexy furniture. Yay, I'm a real grown up, I own two pieces of sex furniture now! Wait, that's not the definition? Anyway, this seemed like it might be helpful for use during sex for my man and myself because of our poor sore knees. Although he's young and I'm relatively young we both suffer from joint pain in our knees.

Instructions
I received this the day before my man came over to visit and I was eager to assemble it myself. According to the box this should be a "snap". Umm, not for me. You are supposed to be able to easily align the steel poles and then position the plastic strips over them to make the seat. I kept getting the poles together but they were crooked. I had to wait until he came over to put it together. Blah for feeling like a female cliche. I can't put together my own (sex) furniture.

He actually had the same issue at first. You have to get the poles just so or the whole thing will be crooked and (I'm guessing) easy to break. Luckily he eventually figured out after a while. He also decided to mark the poles with electrical tape so we would know how to reassemble it in the future whenever we happen to move.

When sliding the plastic sheets on they were stiffer than I thought they'd be. I suppose that's a good thing though since it means they won't just give way.

Use
I saw a review on this by a woman thinner than me who said that her weight wasn't sufficient to make the plastic move that well. Despite being larger than her (I don't list my weight but I'm a 10-12), I also feel that at times you really need to put your back into it (so to speak) to really achieve cowgirl or reverse cowgirl. When using it like this I don't find it too uncomfortable on my thick thighs. It is also nice not to have to pound my knees into the bed.

When laying forward draped over the plastic I find it very uncomfortable. On my back it's not as bad but I do have a bad back to begin with (moderate scoliosis in my lower back) so I can't stay in that position for long.

It should be noted that depending on the size of your man it can be uncomfortable for him to be underneath the stool. My man is from slim to average in size with a small belly. He has to use some sort of pillow to angle himself higher when under this for us to reach each other. However if he uses something larger like our sex pillow or too many small throw pillows then he has to get situated so as not to have the plastic strips uncomfortably irritate his stomach.

Packaging

This stool comes packaged in a box showing a couple enacting several sex positions on the front, back and sides. It's a fairly large box so you probably don't just want it hanging around. I keep it under my bed for further reference. The metal poles, plastic straps and screws are packaged inside in plastic. Since this item is from the Fetish Fantasy Series you also get that cheap black blindfold that they include with their items.

I freaked out a bit when I received this item because the box was very damaged. The outer carton had a hole in the corner (I'm so over Priority Mail guys). When I opened the box, it ironically had a huge amount of brown filler paper, but it was all placed on top of both the stool and the sex pillow that I ordered at the same time. So the box that the stool came in was in the very bottom of the box crushed with the box containing the pillow directly on top but damage free (phew!).

I thought about it though and hoped that the actual stool would be undamaged since it's mainly metal. I was correct. Lucky for me as my man was coming over the next day and I was eager to try it out. (I didn't want to have to wait for a return).

The back of the box shows the instructions on how to assemble it.

Care and Maintenance

Metal can be washed with soap and water. Plastic can be cleaned with antibacterial soap and hot water or by wiping down with isopropyl alcohol. I've wiped the plastic strips off with antibacterial wipes after getting them sweaty.

I don't store it. I keep it in my bedroom with my sex pillow sitting on top of it. When I go away I throw a sheet over it to dissuade prying eyes.
    • Easy to clean
Follow-up commentary
I actually like the stool in general a bit more now because I know how we can best use it during sex. However I recently decided to adjust the plastic sleeves and before I got to do so I noticed that one was already beginning to tear. So that's a bit disappointing. My man said that he would find a way to fix it but hasn't had a chance to yet so we haven't been using it recently.
