Condom cube - storage container discontinued by DevineToys / AfterCare - review by darthkitt3n

I am a sucker for storage. I love having any kind of storage container around me. I especially love cute storage that matches the color scheme in my home. After having purchased and loved the Devine Toys lace toy box, I decided I’d purchase the matching red and black lace condom cube as well. The cube is also available in purple and black lace or in just plain black without any lace detail.

The cube comes packaged in just a small plastic bag. Inside of the cube there is a small insert that simply has Devine Toys written on it as well as the company’s logo and web site. There is no information regarding the materials used to make the cube. On the bottom is a small gold sticker that states the product is made in China.

The cube is like a mini version of the toy box. The sides and bottom of the cube are covered in black faux-leather. The lid and back of the cube are covered with a plush material underneath red satin and black lace. On the front, the lid has a flap that folds down and magnetically attaches to the front of the cube. One side of the cube has the Devine Toys logo cut into it. The walls of the cube feel very sturdy in construction. Inside, the cube is lined with the same black faux-leather. The cube’s dimensions are 2 ¾ x 2 ¾ x 2 ¾.



Despite the name of this product being “condom cube,” you don’t have to use it specifically to store condoms. It can be used to store other little odds and ends as well. I think the size is good for battery storage for toys. It can also be used to store jewelry. Mine is just used to store condoms. The inside dimensions of the box are 2 ¼ x 2 ½ x 2.

Our current stash of condoms is One brand. The One condoms are packaged in round wrappers rather than square and measure 2 ¼ inches in diameter. I am able to easily fit 11 condoms in the condom cube at once. The wrappers are just a tiny bit too tall to fit in the cube without folding them over a bit on the top. I put the condoms in standing up rather than stacked so that I can choose which one I want from our assortment. I also have a few regular Durex condoms sitting around, which are also a bit too large to fit inside the box without the lid folding the wrappers over. Those condoms measure almost 2 ½ inches tall. We do not have any larger sized condoms, so I do not know if they have a larger wrapper than a regular condom. The One brand condoms definitely fit inside the cube much better than condoms wrapped in a square wrapper.



Despite how nice it looks, I wouldn’t consider the condom cube to be particularly discreet looking, especially if it’s sitting at your bed side. It doesn’t look specifically like sex paraphernalia storage, but the location does make it a bit more suspicious looking. I would say it’s much nicer looking than our previous condom storage method, which was packaging from something else I received from Eden.

If your condom cube happens to get dusty on top, simply wiping it with a Swiffer brand duster should work fine. We’ve had the Devine Toys lace box for about a year and a half or so and just dusting it off gets it clean and brand new looking. If you happen to get lubricant on it, the faux-leather should wipe clean with a damp cloth. For the plush top, you may want to use a small amount of laundry detergent on a damp cloth. I would always make sure to wipe the faux-leather dry once you’ve wiped it with a damp cloth in case the moisture causes it to warp.

I think the condom cube would make a great gift for anyone. It’s useful for storing any little bits and pieces you may accumulate laying around. While it does say “Devine Toys” on one side, it doesn’t scream sex toy or condom storage in appearance.

The only thing I don’t like about the condom cube is the price. For $24, you’re getting something that can only hold up to 11 condoms. That’s not much for storage. I’ve seen cute little wooden boxes and faux-leather chests at some stores that go for much less than that and offer a bit more storage space. If you happen to have a Hobby Lobby near you, I’d check out their selection of storage chests if you need something that can hold a bit more stuff.

Even though the price is pretty high for the condom cube, I still like it. It matches my bedroom décor perfectly. The construction is pretty good. If I ever tire of it holding my condoms, I can always use it to store the jewelry I wear most often.

Despite the high price compared to the size of the condom cube, I still like it. It's cute looking and works pretty well with my bedding. I love how easy it is to clean. Usually lace tends to be the worst thing to clean when it gets dusty. It just never seems to actually get fully clean. When I dust this off with my Swiffer hand duster, all the dust comes off it right away.

I don't think I will be buying another one, though. I don't really have any use for them anywhere else. If I were to need a very small box, I'd be able to find other ones for a quarter of the price at a few local stores.
