Fetish Fantasy spreader bar - spreader discontinued by Pipedream - review by BG529

I ordered the Fetish Fantasy Series Limited Edition spreader bar by Pipedream with high hopes. I was hoping to add a little kick into our romance. I had been looking at different spreader bars all over the internet. It looked like it would be something extremely cool to try, and of course, I read about it in 50 Shades, so you know I had to try it. Then I saw this one on Eden, and I had to have it.

The bar is very short, not at all what I had expected. The product page says that it is 28" long but that has to be from cuff to cuff. The bar itself is only 10" long; whereas I was hoping that the bar was 28" long, I guess. It weights about 5oz, it is very light. The cuff are padded for extra comfort, and are adjustable to fit all shapes and sizes.

Safety features are that it is made of a food-grade material, hypo-allergenic, latex free, non-porous and phthalates free. The three main items that make up this spreader bar are metal, neoprene, and plastic. Metal is phthalate-free and has firm, smooth texture. It is usually shiny, with a high density, ductile and malleable, usually has a high melting point, and retains heat well. Neoprene which displays outstanding physical toughness and remains useful over a wide temperature range. Usually used for manufacturing of harnesses and BDSM equipment, neoprene has an outstanding resistance to damage caused by flexing and twisting. Plastic is a non-porous and phthalate-free material, with a firm, smooth texture.

To clean this, the metal bar can be boiled or be bleached (10% solution). It is dishwasher safe (top shelf), and can be washed with soap and water. The neoprene cuffs are a closed cell structure, no dirt will penetrate into the material. Consequently, cleaning with clear water or a damp cloth is sufficient. Any of the plastic parts can easily be cleaned with antibacterial soap and hot water, or by wiping down with isopropyl alcohol.

This just wasn't at all what I had hoped that it would be. So I am now looking for something bigger to try.
