Dr. Love is a Sinner

This lubricant by Dr. Love has a repair serum with aloe-vera ingredients. It helps to speed up the healing process of micro tears and lesions. It is average as a lubricant, but is great for use with all condoms. If you wait to use this after rougher play it can help rejuvenate you, but used too soon, it will sting.

Use

Dr. Love has so many amazing lubricants that are safe for the body. They even make the safest of silicone lubricants that contain no harmful additives. This is the first Dr. Love water based lubricant I have tried. This lubricant has a unique quality. It has been enriched with a protective aloe-vera ingredient. This repair formula helps heal microscopic lesions, tears, and irritated skin. It also has a mucous membrane dermatology that further helps to repair irritated and delicate areas. I recommend this for women who like the keep their nether regions in tip top shape.

Ingredients:

Water, glycerin, butylene glycol, hydroxyethylcellulose, hydroxypropyl guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride, aloe barbadensis leaf juice powder, phenoxyethanol, caprylyl glycol, sorbic acid.

It is fat and perfume free as well as safe for use with all condoms and toys. The bottle also says that it is confirmed to not produce any allergic reactions.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

Dr. Love aloe-aqua lubricant is much thicker than a lot of water based lubricants that I have tried. This is great because it stays put where you want to use it instead of creating a mess. It is easy to pour and spreads smoothly. Initially it didn't feel sticky, grainy, or gummy. It does feel sticky on my hands. I had to wash them with soap and water.

Taste / Aroma

This lubricant was designed to have a neutral taste and smell. To me it has a very slight sweet smell that doesn't have a distinguishable fragrance. There is slightly bitter taste, but it is barely noticeable and not bothersome.

Performance

I was pleased for the most part, but there was one major problem with this lubricant-it sometimes burned me. It burned me when I knew I did have small tears or abrasions (like after a long session of play), which seemed counter productive to me since it stung. When not used immediately after rough or extended play, the lubricant did seem to help me re-coop faster and left me feeling soft and silky. I also liked it better as an after-the-fact lubricant than I did as a sex or toy lubricant. As long as you are careful to not use this at certain times, this is a great repair serum.

As a lubricant it lasted an average length and got a little sticky after awhile, but reapplication helped this. It did feel natural at first. With toys this was much worse than during sex. If used with hard materials like glass, it wasn't sticky at all and remained very smooth. This is not good for anal sex, but because of its thickness it is decent for firm anal toys.

Packaging

The 3.4 fluid ounce bottle is a decent size. I had to use about a nickel size dollop with each application, so this should last a few months if you used it often, about a few times a week. The bottle is black with a blue label that on the front says "Dr.Love" with a silver heart. It is relatively discreet because there is no graphic language. It lists the ingredients on the back in two languages and says that it is made in Germany.

I really like how this bottle dispenses. It has a pump top. You turn the pump to the unlock position to use it. The bottle is probably ok for travel if you make sure to check that it is in the locked position.
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Easy to use / dispense

Special Features

Rejuvenation serum helps to speed up the process of healing micro tears and abrasions. The mucous membrane is dermatologically proven to help soften and repair the damaged areas of delicate skin. In my experience it stung if used shortly after what caused the irritation in the first place. I would let your body heal on its own for about half a day and then use this to help speed up the end of healing.

Personal comments

I also have the Getmaxxx aloe-aqua lube which does not burn me. I recommend that one over this one. I am unsure why it doesn't though since I compared the ingredients and they are exactly the same.

Experience

I am giving this lubricant 3 stars. It was an average lubricant and was unpleasant if it got sticky. It also burned me if used too soon, but it did make me feel silky and seemed to speed up the healing process if I chose the right time to use it.
Follow-up commentary
since I could never really get down EXACTLY when to use this without a painful reaction, I ended up giving it to a friend who said she would give it a try. She did not have the same reaction of burning/stinging or heat and loves this lubricant. If you want to try this for the healing properties, I suggest getting the smallest bottle to try first, just in case.

I'm glad you found out what was causing the burning. I think I'm going to have to check out the Getmaxxx too.

i still don't know what the difference is between the two though...idk!

MUCH better than my review! I have the regular version of Get Maxxx and I love it! I want to try the Aloe version.

Hey, Lauren! I'm a bit confused by this: "This is not good for anal sex, but because of its thickness it is decent for firm anal toys." Do you mean it's not good for anal sex with a partner, but is fine for solo anal play? If so, what's the difference?
  • Contributor: ~LaUr3n~
Yes, well with anal play the dynamics are difference because most likely you are using a condom or bare skin and that causes it to get sticky. With the type of toys I use anally, glass, firm silicone, the lubricant seems to last longer especially since I'm not thrusting. Make sens?

This sounds like something I need. Sometimes if we have sex to rough or in so many positions, I get really sore afterwards, but the stinging sensation on some occasions doesn't seem pleasant at all.

Like I said...just wait a bit and it works wonders

Could be a bit stingy because it has a higher concentration of aloe than the other lube...I know raw aloe can sting at first when applied to a burn or cut but you soon go numb. Course could be a slightly different concentration of any ingredient that makes it sting where the other didn't, just a guess on my part.
    Great review!

You think so? The ingredients are exactly the same on the sight and package. Thanks for reading!
