Sliquid sizzle - lubricant discontinued by Sliquid, LLC - review by Little Naughty,Little Nice

Now, why on Earth would anyone want to try a product that has the word "sizzle" boldly placed in the title??? Those looking for a bit of heat in the bedroom, that's who! Sliquid Sizzle is a warming lubricant that had me looking for a remarkable amount of heat and intensity based on the title. While it wasn't as hot as I expected, its unique way of cooling THEN warming added an element I wasn't expecting and therefore makes it, in my opinion, an intriguing product worth trying for yourself.

Sliquid Sizzle shows up in quite an unassuming way. It says right on the bottle "natural stimulating lubricant." Upon further review of the ingredients, I found they weren't kidding...this product is Vegan friendly, and is free of not only glycerine and parabens, it's also free of DEA, gluten, glycerol, PEG, propylen glycol, sorbitol, and sulphates. Makes me wonder what exactly I've been getting in my other lubes! It is made with purified water, cotton cellulose, cyamopsis (a type of plant conditioner), food grade menthol (so no worries if you "accidentally" ingest this) Potassium Sorbate, and Citric Acid. All of that being said, you can smell a mild menthol odor, but it's actually quite pleasant...I have a rather keen nose, although I'm sure others have a stronger sense than I do, but it was not overly harsh or medical smelling in any way.

Now, the important part...how does it feel? All in all when this first showed up, I was afraid I was going to be let down. Like any good reviewer and person anticipating the use of this product, I popped it open immediately and spread some on my finger to test the feel and to see how thick the product is. I was a little surprised by how smooth and natural it actually felt. This could have been ME. It wasn't too thick, spread nicely, and had just enough "run" to it to make it what I would consider a great lube, without being too runny and messy. It did not warm to my hand, as I didn't figure it would, considering it says right on the bottle that it cools on contact, warms with friction. Overall, the first impression was rather nice! If you find that it wears off a little too soon for you, you have the option of reapplying or adding water to restimulate the menthol...we tried this just to see, and while it did warm back up a little, it was nowhere near as good as reapplying the product...in fact while it did warm temporarily, it washed most of the lube properties away, which kind of defeats the purpose! However, I could see using it that way during foreplay, etc.

Upon true use later, I found that the warming properties were balanced almost perfectly. That being said, I personally like quite a bit of heat to be delivered from my warming product, to the point where most people would probably say "too much!". Sliquid to me was a bit more unique because it does what it claims...it cools FIRST. So, when this product begins to warm up with friction, it's quite stimulating. It didn't get overly hot, didn't sting, and didn't burn like some of the other warming lubes...and I find myself wanting to use this one again as opposed to my tried and true stand-by lubricants that could at time feel like torture! I didn't have high hopes for this product, but for regular intercourse or toy play, it works, and works well enough I'll have to reorder long before some of my others!

As mentioned before this product could have been ME. It is the right combination of slick and thin, and is not sticky and grossly thick like some other lubricants out there. While you may need to reapply for that ultra slick feeling, for a natural water based lubricant, this one is right on the money. It is surprisingly smooth without that "catch" that some chemically heavy lubricants have, and doesn't stick and string out like others. It is spreadable enough to provide adequate lubrication, but is JUST thick enough to not run all over the place and make a huge mess on your freshly washed sheets (man, THAT is annoying!!! And a mood killer...but it's ok, because this one won't do that!)

It has a very very mild menthol aroma, not medical or harsh in any way. As far as taste, it almost reminds me of one of those mint toothpicks...you know it's a fake added flavor but it's not unpleasant. It has a slightly sweet taste along with the mint flavor...while I wouldn't purposely choose to use this orally it wouldn't be the end of the world if it happened...and if you like mint flavor, this would possibly work in your favor.

This product has two variables...slickness and the warming/cooling sensation. For performance, I'd say that the lubricant itself held up for about 30-35 minutes. This is going to vary from person to person I'm sure, and as it says on the bottle, it's designed to work WITH your body to provide lubrication...I'll just say if you are naturally aroused AND use this product, you probably won't need to reapply unless you want that SUPER slick feeling. If you are in for a marathon or if your body for what ever reason isn't cooperating, then a reapplication may be needed.

As far as the enhancing stimulant, this like most warming lubricants, wore off in about half the time. Every once in a while we would notice almost a "burst" of cool/hot, but not enough to say that the product was working as well as it was in the first 15-20 minutes. We chose to reapply for that sizzle feeling, but again this will be a personal decision on whether or not the intensity is ok or lacking! For us, it wasn't REALLY lacking, but we like our warmth!

As far as cleanup, this product seems fairly easy, both personally and in clothing/sheets. We used a personal/baby wipe to remove any left over product, and I didn't notice any problems or residue after that simple wipe. I washed my sheets the next day as well, regular cycle, and the two whole drops that made it to the sheets were gone with no problems...better than some that I've had to wash more than once to remove!

Sliquid Sizzle comes in a 4.2 oz round type bottle with a "pop-up" style lid that makes for easy application as well as open/close with slick hands. It's unassuming, and the orange and white label is simple while still being attractive. Found that the bottle was pretty decently shaped for holding even if you got some on your hands, and it was easy to dispense as well as clean up. No leaks and wasn't as messy as most.
