Ouch!

This lubricant was great at first, but became too unbearably hot for me. Maybe that's okay for other people, I know I have sensitive skin, but it just burned and would not stop burning! Good texture lubricant, though.

I'm always attracted by new and funky lubricants. I don't know if it's the packaging, the text, the marketing, or what, but when I spot a new one I usually give it a try. This one my boyfriend actually found, and one day awhile ago we decided to give it a shot.

I love the consistency of the ID lubes. They hold up pretty well, I just like how they feel. This one is water-based and L-argenine free. I was really excited to give it a try. So, on goes a small drop of it, on me and on him. At first it felt like normal lube, and then it started to get a pleasant warming sensation. Awesome!

So the more we fooled around, the warmer the lube got. Actually, it started to burn both of it. It was almost painful. Then it really was painful! We tried wiping it off, washing it off, and it still took a good 15 minutes to calm down. Maybe we just got a weird batch or something, but it was seriously not a pleasurable experience. It was uncomfortable!

Since then I've only had this problem with some brands of warming lube and not others. Some of them are just too hot for me. It's also possible that when we tried this, it had been kept in light or temperature conditions that were not ideal.

It didn't stain. It smelled sweet and minty so I assume it tasted as such, although I would never venture to try this again to taste it. I honestly don't know if it was supposed to feel the way that it did. I personally was not a fan. I really like ID brand lubricants, and I would not stop using their company (and have not done so) just because of this particular lubricant.

No problem, mamastoys! Thanks, Naughty. I never really thought of that! I think my boyfriend still has it, I'll ask him.

I'm glad to know I'm not alone with my warming-lube-issues!

I would test any "Effect" lube on another body part first - I use my arm. That way you can know what you're in for. Did you use a generous amount at first? I know you'd be reluctant to try it again but I'm a curious person so probably would. LOL

I think I used a dime-sized amount? I don't know. Maybe for BDSM related things, I would be into it. I just wasn't expecting it. "Warming" is different from "Oh my lord my bits are on fire!"

That's a good idea about testing it, though. I should have thought of that!

Not too long ago I read a review on a warming lube. I think that they had mentioned having a similar problem, and theorized that the various ingredients began to settle into layers, and recommend stirring and mixing the lube before use. I am not saying this is definitely the problem, but if all of the warming elements were concentrated in one place, it could be way hotter than expected.

That's an interesting hypothesis. If I'm ever inclined to try one again, I'll make sure that I stir it up before I use it.
