Glide is a great all-purpose performance sex/masturbation lube that most people will find pleasing and enjoyable. If you've been disappointed by cheap and poor-quality lubes in the past, give this one a try!
ID Glide is a water-based lubricant that can be used for just about anything anywhere. Got a rough hand? Slap some on! Va-jay-jay a little dry in the heat of the moment? Slap some on! Need to release a little pressure during your lunch break? Slap some on!
But no, seriously, it can be used anywhere and on virtually anything. Since ID Glide is water based, it can be used for all types of play. Whether it's solo masturbation with a sleeve, pocket pussy, vibrator, or dildo, or full-on action vaginally or anally, this stuff will keep your goodies greased and ready to ride!
Glide is exactly as advertised. It has most of the qualities that you find in more expensive or silicone lubes, but without the price tag or the worries about compatibility. It's a silky-smooth, easy-to-apply, non-sticky, non-greasy water-based lube that beats many of its competitors. It also comes in economy-sized packaging! Woo hoo!
Overall, Glide is fairly thin and has the consistency of most liquid hand sanitizers. Whether you're using it on your hand, a toy, or on your "Goldmember", you don't need a lot for the fun to begin! This is a good thing, as over-applying Glide can lead to some rather runny situations, and some wet sheets!
Glide is strictly a performance sex/masturbation lube. There's no flavor, no tingle, and no warming. But, like many other lubes, there's a slight "rubbery-lube-like" smell. Unless you've had a bad childhood experience to this, you should be able to overlook this easily so you can get back to what's important: slip-sliding around!
Glide is designed to stand-up to most conditions, and rivals many silicone lubes. As we mentioned earlier, you don't necessarily need a lot to get going...unless you're into bedroom bobsledding. It stays slick for quite a while, without getting too sticky or greasy. If you play with stuff long enough, there's a slight bit of tackiness as the lube wears down, but this can usually be remedied by adding fresh lube to the mix.
Clean-up is easy. For toys, whips, chains, and other hardware, you can wash it off with soap and water or your favorite toy cleaner. Spills on clothing and bedding can be removed by promptly putting it in the washer. We've spilled this many times on our white sheets and have never had a stain!
Our one and only complaint with this lube is that is is a little loud if over-applied. Compared to other lubes, such as in the JO line and some silicone lubes, this lube can occasionally make some unwanted noise if there's too much "lotion in the ocean". The best way we can describe is that the sound is similar to when you grab and flap your cheeks against your teeth - a lot like a "fake" flopping noise. While this is negligible when used vaginally, it is often annoying when giving/being given a hand job; it's a big turn-off, for sure.
The 35.5oz bottle features a pump and a re-usable cup as a cap. Unlike packaging that has a twist-off or flip-top cap, this can present it's own set of issues:
1. It makes it harder to store since the pump and cap take-up additional space.
2. The bottle cannot be stored on its side without lube leaking out the pump, or the pump becoming depressed, which leads to more lube leaking. This means the bottle cannot be stored easily in a small or narrow drawer.
3. Unless you have a nightstand nearby, the bottle cannot be placed in a convenient place during play. If you attempt to set it on the bed, count on it tipping over.
4. Pumping does not always allow for the optimal quantities of lube dispensed. It can be just as hard to operate the pump with slick hands as it is to fumble with twist-off or flip-top caps.
5. Don't even think about traveling with a pump bottle like this. TSA will definitely frisk you, confiscate your lube, and then take it home.
Based on our experience with the pump, we suggest buying a smaller squeeze bottle and filling it up for your travel or bedtime activities. That way, you can store the larger bottle in a closet or larger drawer without worrying about it leaking or spilling, and the smaller bottle can make play time fun!
Follow-up commentaryI don't like it anymore10 months after original review
While a good product, this is no longer my go-to lube. While it's affordable, reliable, and an all-round good performer, there are other products that are starting to outshine it, like Colt Slick. For ID to stay at the top of its game, it needs to perfect the silky-smooth texture and performance that the competing lubes are offering.
The pump is great for some, but I still don't think it's the best. The larger bottles can be a pain to store - especially if you can't store it upright - and the pump can be a nuisance. We prefer more control over dispensing the product than the pump provides.

Thanks for the review, I enjoyed reading it! I'd like to know more about the ingredients though; are there any that would be of concern for some?

Depending on your personal sensitivities/allergies, there are some drawbacks. You may want to check the forums for some of the discussions on the different ingredients.
We personally have had no problems with allergic reactions or other sensitivities to the ingredients. I guess we're some of the lucky ones!

Now I like this lube as it works well for it's job, however every time I have used it I get infections.

TheSexista: That definitely makes me want to avoid this.
Good review! That is definitely a big bottle of lube.

@Sexista. Sorry to hear you get infections when using the lube! What a bummer! Have you figured out what ingredient(s) are causing it?
OhMy!
@darthkitt. Yes, 35.5oz is a BIG bottle of lube! It was a steal at the time, as it was the same price as the 20oz bottles! We couldn't pass that up!
Dear Ruby
No one else mentioned the noise factor - it hadn't even occurred to me that some lubes sound different than others. Thanks for pointing it out!
OhMy!
I mainly depends on what you're using it for. If you're using it for a masturbation lube - especially for hand jobs - it can get a little noisy. For general use during intercourse, you probably won't notice it much.
