Anal Lube by California Exotics is a water-based lube. The name is simple and self explanatory. You won't forget which lube is for what with this name. This lube lasts a long time without drying. I used it for a one hour sex session and only needed to reapply it once. Because of how thick it is you can place it wherever you want with ease. Some really watery lubes can be difficult to place where you want without making a mess of it. This is not a problem with this lube. It wipes away easily and does not leave a slick residue. Just normal soap and water is all you need for an easy cleanup. It is really thick which prevents it from drying too quickly during sex play.

It is a safe product to use on toys of all kinds. Silicone-based lube cannot be used on silicone toys for example. However, water-based lubes are safe on all materials. It can be used for couples play of all sexual orientations. It can be used for solo masturbation with toys or just manual stimulation. Even though its purpose is for anal penetration it is also perfect for everything else. It is great for vaginal sex as well. Also because of the pleasant taste and smell it can also be great for oral sex too.


The first thing I do when I get lube is taste it. Some brands can taste really bad. This lube was pleasant because it wasn't too sweet or tangy. It reminded me of the flavor of a bottle of crystal light probably because it is water based. It has a very pleasant scent and taste that is light and only slightly sweet. Cherry is a great flavor. I would suggest strawberry as a better flavor choice.


The bottle is cylindrical with a blue lid that screws off, and the liquid is dispensed by pushing down a part of the lid to open a small hole. The bottle is a flexible plastic, so try not to roll on top of it in the heat of passion. It will get everywhere! However, that could be a good thing. ;) It may just add a little more slipping and sliding to your fun. The lube is so thick you do not have to worry about the bottle leaking or dripping. You can hold the bottle upside down and it won't come out. You have to squeeze the bottle to get a glob out.


Be sure to use condoms on anything you use for anal penetration. The anus and the rectum can be very sensitive and can easily tear. This is why condom use is so important with anal penetration. I received my lube along with some other items. The lube was wrapped in a thick, clear plastic bag and the end of the bag was tied in a knot. Be careful when disposing of plastic bags. It is dangerous for small animals and children. The bottle says made in the USA. It is always good to improve our country's economy. There are no warning labels on the bottle. It is funny though that there is a typo on the back of my bottle. It says, "All rights reserved. he shape and appearance of this packaging is a trademark..." I thought it was funny that they forgot the t to make The shape.

This is a wonderful lube that is very multi-dementional. It can be used for so many purposes and can be used by anyone. It tastes great, but has limited flavor options. Overall it is a great buy.

I still love this lube. It works great. However, I still hate the bottle design. I think it would be perfect with a better bottle design. My bottle is warped because it is so hard to get the lube out of the bottle.
