Slippery Subtle Sensations

A gently stimulating and long-lasting lube that creates a subtle tingle and all-over cooling sensation. Easy to reinvigorate and doesn't dry sticky.
Stimulating, Long-lasting, Slippery, Not sticky, Attractive packaging, Vegan, Organic, Glycerin-free
Not very tasty -- unless you like menthol cough drops

extremely useful review

This is actually my favorite lube for solo play. The bottle I have does not say it is a *warming* lubricant, as the EF description says; it claims to be a stimulating lubricant, which I would agree with. Another review said their bottle didn't say warming on the front, but did on the side, so I'm thinking this product has gone through several re-packagings.

Although the stimulation is not the strongest I've ever felt in a lube, I definitely feel the tingle, which then suffuses to a nice all-over cooling sensation. I've often felt overwhelmed by warming lubes before, so if you're particularly sensitive, this may be a tingling lube to try! Like most water-based lubes, the slipperiness doesn't last forever, but a little spritz of water (or some help from your own fluids) gets it going again quickly without having to apply more. I use it for insertion and also for lubrication of my clitoris. I have also used it several times for partner play; my partner says the sensation is pleasant and mild for him as well. I have not personally used it for anal, as I think the sensation would be a bit strong for me, and also, I prefer a more substantial lube for that.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

This lube is on the thin side of "gel" and thinner than most lubes I have preferred in the past; I usually use gels even for vaginal play. It's nowhere near the thinness of, say, original Slippery Stuff, which runs everywhere; it does stay where you put it. It is slippery and tends to dry without stickiness.

Taste / Aroma

It tastes and smells just like a mentholated cough drop, but not as strong as many on the market! The cooling sensation definitely translates to the mouth as well. It could definitely start to clear your sinuses if you used it before oral.

This lube lasts at least as long as any of the water-based lubes I have used, and much longer than several of them. I can definitely re-hydrate it with a little fluid without having to add more for an average solo session (which, by necessity, tend to be long for me!). I have reapplied once or twice when playing for extended periods if I didn't have enough natural lubrication to reinvigorate it or water handy.

It cleans up very easily with water and I haven't noticed any stains as a result of my getting it everywhere (which I tend to do). The subtle, not overwhelming, tingling and cooling are a major plus to me for this product, as well as the fact it is substantial enough not to run everywhere while I use it.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Long lasting

Like all of Sliquid Organics products, the bottle is very attractive: a dark amber plastic with a natural paper label, with a beautiful logo (a lotus combined with a female symbol). As far as lube bottles go, someone might pass this over on your desk with your assorted other bottles without noticing what it was, though of course it is labeled as a lubricant on the bottle. Of all my lubes, it is definitely the most attractively packaged! The click-top is very convenient when one hand is busy and easier for me, personally, to manipulate than a pump.
    • Can be opened with one hand
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Does not leak

Special Features

The tingling sensation is definitely there, but not overwhelming. I usually feel the tingle right away and then the cooling feeling comes on gradually, especially around the entrance to my vagina. The amount of sensation is perfect for me, as in the past I've had to wash off stimulating lubes quickly because they were too much for me to handle. The level of sensation from this lube may be perfect for sensitive people.

The fact that it is vegan, not tested on animals and contains organic ingredients is also a huge draw to me, as well as the fact that it is glycerin free.

Personal comments

From personal experience, I do have a warning: it definitely stung when I had an abrasion from shaving. If you have any broken or irritated skin, you might want to choose a different lube until you're healed.
