The Naked

Hydra is a water based lubricant that is Organic. It is glycerin, paraben, and DEA free. Hydra is very useful for those sensitive to these ingredients. However, it is very runny and has bad packaging. Hydra dries fast and reapplication is necessary.

extremely useful review
Intimate Organics has a line of products that I enjoy so much. They are all USDA certified organic and also very appealing.

Hydra is another good product from Intimate Organics. It isn't my favorite product on their line nor my favorite lubricant for simple reasons.

Hydra is a water based lubricant. It is very runny. Hydra actually is the runniest lube I have ever used. If you have ever pulled open the green of a plant and felt the inside... basically that is what Hydra feels like. Except add lots of water to it and there you go.

Pouring Hydra... well it's a chore in itself. If the bottle is barely tipped it comes running out. I have gotten lube all over the place just trying to get a small amount applied to myself. I always end up wasting much more than I ever use. After two uses half the bottle was gone just because of it runny all over the place.

Another reason it isn't my favorite is the texture. I feels stringy. I have used it just for sex toy use only, and haven't been happen with the texture. It adds a really slippery surface, that is just a little too much. I end up trying to get rid of some of it because after application I have become too slick. It dries fast as well. I think it lasted about five minutes and I had to reapply it again.

It does have good cleanup though. After using Hydra I didn't feel like I had to run to the bath room and clean myself up. Just everything around me (sheets, toys, floor). But it did absorb into me and did not leave flakes behind. That is a plus.

It really just depends on how much mess can be tolerated by the user. I don't like getting lube all over the place and waste half the bottle trying use some just to have to clean up everything when I am done.

That aside, for anyone that struggles with infections or is sensitive to ingredients. Hydra would probably be a pleasant choice. It is 100% Vegan, paraben free, glycerin free, organic, and USDA certified.

Ingredients:
Aqua, Propylene glycol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Methylisothiazolinone, Phenethyl alcohol, PPG-2-Methyl ether, Water, Alcohol, Certified organic goji berry fruit extract, Certified organic lemon grass leaf/stem extract, Certified organic aloe leaf extract.

Hydra is scent and flavor free. It is clear and does not stain.
Experience
Hydra's best use is probably for men or women that struggle with glycerin. It is water based and glycerin and paraben free. It does get messy, but could be worth the mess for some who are sensitive to other lubricants. I will still give Hydra a fair rating. It does have an ingredient list that can be very useful to some. It was just too much of a mess for me and not worth the extra cash because I waste so much of it. Perhaps if Hydra came with a pump it would be less wasteful.

Does your Hydra not have a pretty strong and unpleasant scent?
  • Contributor: ? Amanda ?
No it does not. Water Based lube by Intimate Organics does come in a variety of scents, but I purchases the unscented one. And it does not smell really at all.

The bottle is pretty cute. I don't remember having ever seen a lubricant in a sky blue bottle like that.

I'm glad I looked at reviews like yours. There are products on here that are also vegan, glycerin free, and paraben free that have all 4 and 5 star reviews. I'll stick with those!
