Blue lace babydoll and g-string - babydoll and panties set by Coquette - review by SMichelle

This is one of those pieces that I almost different buy. When I first saw it added to the site, I thought it was truly gorgeous, but I also worried that it would be unflattering on my curvy figure. I also had concerns about the sizing, as I find that Coquette's babydoll's either run way too big, or way too small. Due to my concerns about the fit, and my questions about the sizing, I avoided this item for a long while. In fact, I had even deleted it from my wishlist. Then the day came that I needed a $20 to get free next day delivery, in order to receive an item that I HAD to have the next day. I thought to myself, well, I could pay the extra money for next delivery, or I could spend a little more and get something that I may like. I decided to take chance, and I'm glad I did. This babydoll is absolutely to die for!

Basics:
This stunning sapphire babydoll is made by Coquette. The babydoll is intended to be used as a lingerie item, which is why it comes with an included g-string. You don't have to wear it only as a lingerie item, however, as this great babydoll also looks fantastic when worn as a top; just remember that you'll need to wear a camisole underneath, and of course a pair of bottoms.

Personally, I love that this item has multiple purposes. I can dress it up, with a pair of classy looking jeans and a camisole, yet it's still casual enough for me to wear in the daytime. It also looks great with leggings! And, of course, it looks unbelievable as lingerie.

Material & Care:
Both pieces of this set are made out of 82% Nylon and 18% Spandex. Due to the high amount of Spandex in this set, it's very stretchy. The material also feels quite durable, though as it is primarily lace, you should be careful with it.

Comfort wise, I truly enjoyed the babydoll. The lace isn't itchy like some lace can be -- in fact, it's very comfortable. The insides of the cups are also very comfortable against my sensitive skin. The g-string would've been great, too, but it didn't fit me comfortably. The material on the g-string doesn't seem itchy, though.

The material pretty much looks like the stock photo on the product page. It's a gorgeous sapphire blue, with black trim. The bust of the babydoll is lined, and so the bust is opaque in nature. Going around the back, the upper portion of the babydoll consists of a black, stretchy fabric. The black material is also opaque.

The lower half of the babydoll, however, is made of a gorgeous floral lace. The lace is fairly thin, yet it feels strong. Also, the lace is, of course, sheer. For this reason, you're going to want to pair it with a camisole if you plan to wear it out.

The included g-string is made out of the same material as the lower half of the babydoll, so it is sheer as well.

To care for this item, you should hand wash it only, and then hang it to dry.

Sizing:
Coquette has made this babydoll available in the following sizes: small, medium, large, XL, and 1X/2X. I purchased this item in a medium.

According to Coquette's size chart, a medium should fit someone with the following measurements:
Cups: B
Bust: 36-38"
Waist: 26-30"
Hips: 38-40"

I wear a 34d bra (most of the time), and have a 32" waist. My hips measure 40". Looking at the style of this babydoll, I could tell that the waist and hip measurements weren't overly important, due to the way this babydoll flows. I didn't really care much about the g-string fitting, so I didn't pay any attention to the lower half of my body's measurements.

Now, as you can see, my cup size is much larger than the recommended cup size for this size. Past experience with Coquette has taught me that Coquette's babydoll's tend to have HUGE cups. I have at least 5 babydolls by Coquette, all in my usual size (Large), and I'm drowning in the cups. So, going on my prior experience, I snatched up the medium, and I'm glad that I did. The babydoll fits me perfectly in a medium! My breasts are not feeling like they're being suffocated by the cups, but I also don't feel like I could fit three of me in the cups. It's just a perfect fit. That being said, if I did purchase a large, I might have gotten a little more coverage from the cups, but still, the cups cover everything they need to, and my breasts look great in them!

Sizing cont.
Length wise, the babydoll is long enough to work as a chemise in the bedroom, but short enough to work as a top in public (when paired with pants). I'm 5'6", and the babydoll comes to about mid-butt length on me.

The included g-string was, unsurprisingly, too small. I can get it on, but it's not comfortable. It also gives me some serious muffin top, which is very unattractive. The little triangle in the front of the g-string also does not provide as much coverage as I would like.


Design:
This babydoll comes in a beautiful sapphire color. The sapphire is accented with black detailing; the color combination is really beautiful and elegant.

The straps of the babydoll are adjustable, but they're not removable. They're also extremely stretchy, and comfortable.

The bust of the babydoll does not feature underwire, but it is lined (I wouldn't call it padded, though). I was pleasantly surprised to find that I actually got bust support from the babydoll. I'm able to wear it without a bra, and still feel like my girls get the little lift that they require. It's always nice to have the option to go bra-less!

I love that the bust of the dress is opaque, as this enables me to have some coverage, even when wearing this without a camisole underneath. I still wouldn't wear it in public without a cami, but it's nice to be able to leave a little something to the imagination when wearing this as lingerie.

Under the bust, there's a black band. A little black bow is featured on that band. The bow is removable, as it is attached with a safety pin. Personally, I think the bow is cute, but it's great that it's removable.

The included g-string is your standard g-string. It does not feature a pantyliner, though.

Packaging:
This arrived hanging on one of Coquette's fantastic padded hangers. It was also covered in a plastic bag, which served the purpose of protecting it throughout the shipping process. There is also a hang-tag attached to the babydoll with a small black safety pin. I did not notice any holes left in the fabric after I removed the safety pin.

Quality:
The quality is excellent. The material feels strong, and I didn't notice a single loose thread.

This is one of my favorite purchases. It's comfortable, it's sexy, and even after awhile of owning it, I still love it. I wear it regularly as a top when it's warm enough, and I get so many compliments on it.
