Bow mesh and lycra babydoll and g-string - babydoll and panties set by Coquette - review by Breas

The Bow Mesh and Lycra Babydoll and G-string by Coquette is available in sizes S-L. I ordered the size large. I ordered this piece so that I could wear it under a nice shrug as a top out in public. I love lingerie pieces that can be worn both in and out of the bedroom. When I seen the stock photo of this babydoll, I knew it’d double as a great top to wear out.

The item arrived on a padded clothes hanger. A plastic covering surrounded the entire outfit. You could keep the plastic to protect the item when you are not wearing it, though I just keep the piece on the hanger it came with. Attached to the babydoll, were a cardboard tag and a zip lock style bag that held the detachable, adjustable shoulder straps. The cardboard tag had a few photos of a model wearing the outfit, and stated the brand name, size, colour, and company website.



The outfit is 82% nylon and 18% spandex (exclusive of trim). The babydoll has quite a bit of stretch to it. I’ve taken measurements of the outfit laying flat, unstretched. If you need additional measurements, feel free to send me a message and I can get them for you.

The material has a really cutesy design; bows and little dots. The material is quite thin but it does seem to be durable. The red mesh material seems to become more sheer the more you need to stretch it, though with the style of this top, the bottom part beneath the chest is supposed to flow, not be tight. When I held the material up to the light, it did have a bit of sheerness to it, though when I was wearing it, I wasn’t able to see my stomach/belly button through the material.

The chest area of the babydoll has decent padding in it so you don’t need to wear a bra with this piece, though there is no underwire. The chest area fit my cup size C chest very comfortably. The chest area is my favourite part of the babydoll because of the gathered look along the chest. It’s really pretty; you can see it in the photo below.



The shoulder straps are detachable, so they do not need to be worn with the babydoll. I prefer wearing the shoulder straps to hold the top up, but that’s just me. The bow on the front of the babydoll is also detachable. The bow is glue gunned to a broach-style clip, so you can move it anywhere you would like on the piece, or just take it off completely.

The g-string is just your basic, black g-string. There is no lining in it. The back of the g-string waistband does not go straight across like most regular g-strings. Instead, the waistband goes into a “v” in the very centre back. You can see this in the photo below. I personally prefer when the g-string has a straight back.



The material of the g-string is comfortable and soft, though the g-string didn’t really fit me. It was far too small in length (from front to back the g-string measures 10 inches), and the front material that covers the crotch was not wide enough for me (see measurements above). I really don’t care that it doesn’t fit me though since I purchased this to wear as a top in public anyway. If you encounter the same issue as me, you could always just pair the babydoll with any other black pair of panties you own.

I found the material to be very lightweight and comfortable. I did not have any problems with the material bothering my skin while I wore it. I’m 5’6 and the length of the babydoll was good for me. When standing straight, the bottom of the babydoll was just at the bottom of my bum.

The care tag states that the piece should be hand washed only and hung to dry.

Overall, I’m happy with this purchase. The piece is great for in or out of the bedroom. I really like wearing it as a top because it’s so comfy. Below you can see a front and back view of the babydoll on me. I moved the bow pin below the chest to the centre area as I found it sort of odd looking when it was more to the side.



I’ve given this piece a 5 out of 5 because the only con I can think of is that it is not available in plus sizes.

I still really like the Bow Mush and Lycra Babydoll! I don't really use it for the bedroom. I love wearing it as a top out in public. It's adorable, comfortable, and fits me well. I'm very happy with it.
