Caged heart chemise and thong - chemise discontinued by DreamGirl - review by Illusional

While I find it fun to dabble across the different sort of brands, there's always the trite and true. Always there for me, is Dreamgirl. Classy and sexy, Dreamgirl never fails to catch my eye with an interesting design. So, when I saw the caged chemise, I knew I had to have it. I'm not a terribly huge fan of polyester but spandex can be very forgiving and can shift and shape to the curves of a vast variety. So, I ordered the 3x/4x from Dreamgirl. During this school year, I've been living the college diet. You know, ramen, McDonald's and soda. Blech. I'm ashamed to say some of my jeans don't fit. I had read another review by sktb0007 who mentioned the fact that chemise had a baggy long neck and it wouldn't fit alot of people. I know it's facetious of me, but I was quite thrilled. I'm very tall and normally I find things hoochie mama short on me. I know some people are boggled by the fact that I want my lingerie to cover my butt but it's seriously a pet peeve for me.

The chemise arrived in typical Dreamgirl manner. Wrapped up in pretty pink wrapping paper. It doesn't come with a hanger or bag, but instead a tag with the size you ordered with the model wearing the aforementioned item you purchased. This chemise is available in sizes S- 3x/4x and only in classic black. The outfit is made of 80% polyester and 20% spandex. This outfit is entirely stretchy, and can expand in a vast variety of ways.

I'm actually not in some of these boxes, but because of my weight gain I felt I wouldn't affect the fit. Honestly besides the cup size, none of the others affected me and the cup size would be fine if the neck wasn't so saggy.

I think the neck straps are a part of the problem. My neck is 16 inches (circumference) so I had a lot of room to work with. I also think I have a pretty thick neck, so I am gonna have to say I don't know a lot of people this would work with. So, the neck drooped terribly and made the spider webbing across the chest sag, which of course affected the overall fit across the chest. I'm really disappointed with this and I expected a lot more. I was really excited by the idea of an underwire but since the chemise is too long and baggy I'm barely in the cups anyways if I let my breasts hang loosely. There's also four detachable garters in case you don't want to wear thigh highs with them. They unhook underneath the chemise with a loop clasp similar to the neck. The back of the chemise features a hook and eye closure much similar to a bra, it comes with three different hook placements. The chemise also comes with a thong, that has a lot of give and it almost felt as if the thong was going to fall right off my hips. While my partner might think that's awesome, it was very disappointing and I probably WON'T be wearing this again.

Polyester and spandex isn't really hard to care for. The tag clearly states dry cleaning only so be careful with it. I'm not a total fan of it, I want to give it more of an approval rating but it's just not cutting it for me. The fabric is comfy, the design is sexy but it wasn't constructed very well. It had a few little loose threads, but nothing I could snip off. I'm really unsure how I can fix this or who could I even GIVE it to. Perhaps someone super busty? I'm not so sure. I'm 5'11 and even with my Amazon height, it still sagged and dropped on me. I was very frustrated but I will give it a 3/5 for the design and decent construction. I still hold Dreamgirl in high regard but I won't be flaunting this on Valentine's.

I haven't given this another glance. I don't even know who I could give this to. A giraffe maybe? Sigh, it had such potential but it hasn't been touched since. I mean, I can lose inches on my waist but they won't go to my neck length any.
