Gathered mesh chemise set - gartered chemise and panty set discontinued by Coquette - review by oncetwice

This has made a great addition to my drawer of lingerie. I chose it because I was looking for a departure from the plain black I usually buy and thought the green would add a little variety. I was shocked at how bright the trim is; you can't really tell from the picture but the trim is neon lime green. I had expected something more like an emerald green; the center inset with the mesh overlay does look a lot darker since it is covered by the black. Just be warned, the trim looks nearly radioactive. You can sort of get an idea from the close up view but it doesn't even quite do it justice. Also, there is, what I am assuming is the Coquette logo dangling below the little green bow in the center. I cut it off immediately! An awful silver colored set of big lips was definitely not going to be permitted to just "hang around" on my new outfit. The same logo is on the hanger the chemise arrived on (this time as just a red lip-print). I tossed the hanger but if you aren't "hung up" on all your closet hangers matching and actually looking okay you could use it to store some lingerie. The clear plastic hanger is cheap but has great notches for straps of chemises and slips.

As far as the fit goes, I ordered a medium and it fits great through my torso and hips but the cups are a little small. I'm 5'2" and about 130 lbs with a 34DD chest and think the large would have better accommodated my "girls" but I would have been swimming in it everywhere else. The padding in the cups is not removable. I think that with removable padding the top would have been a better fit. Of course, when I think of how, where, and why I usually wear this, it's probably okay to have the occasional "nip slip" and be busting out of it a little, literally.

The material is very very soft considering the material. It really does feel great on. It is supposed to be hand washed but I just put it my lingerie laundry bag on a delicate cold cycle and let it line dry. So far, so good.

The thong is a very plain black string and I only had it one for 10 minutes or so before I swapped it out for one of my own. The fit seems to run just a tad big but you are probably okay to order your usual size. And who doesn't already own a black thong anyway?! I hadn't even noticed that this had removable garters until it got here. I used them only once and then removed them - they are just your basic garters, nothing great or bad about them!
