The Heck Are These?

I'm one of those grumpy humans who complain about people wearing leggings as pants. After getting my hands on these, I now apologize. I have seen the leggings light, though I still do not wear these as pants alone anywhere other than a club. It's really a shame that these were discontinued here in black! I am interested in getting a red pair as well.

The Menton leggings are a pair of leggings (I got mine in the lovely black color.) that are super-shiny to imitate leather or pleather pants. They are styled to look more like pants than leggings.

What Are They Like?

These leggings are completely opaque and don't cling to private areas in an embarrassing way. If one wanted to wear them as pants, it would be completely modest. They even have flimsy pockets on the back to complete the illusion of proper pants. While I wouldn't recommend actually using the pockets, they're a nice aesthetic touch.

The fabric feels a lot like swimwear material. It's shiny, smooth, and made from 92% polyester with 8% spandex. These leggings should be hand-washed in cold water, and this is how I've been cleaning them. While these leggings are super tough, I'm still nervous about putting them through the washing machine. I wouldn't want to ruin them, especially now that I don't know where to get a replacement!

The stitching is well-done and the fabric is surprisingly sturdy for leggings. I've put these through quite a bit without any ripping of seams or tears in the fabric. I've had some close calls with getting these nearly stuck in a boot zipper, but no harm has been done.

I'm particularly in love with how these feel temperature-wise. Unlike my lined pleather pants that feel freezing cold on the outside but retain heat a little too well, these leggings can keep you warm but are never hot. I feel perfectly fine wearing them both in summer and winter.

How Do They Fit?

So, the real question is, are they comfortable? Heck yes. I wear a size 6 in women's clothing/31/30 in men's pants, and these fit me pretty much perfectly. No muffin top here! I ordered a size medium because I'm around 5'6" and 130 lb. I didn't want these to be skin-tight, I wanted some room for my ass to move! I definitely made the right decision. They get a little scrunched around my legs, but I'm fine with that because I wanted to be sure they wouldn't be too short for me.

How Do They Arrive?

The leggings came folded up in a plastic bag with tags showing them modeled as well as care instructions.

How Do I Wear These?

Clothes you should definitely wear these with:
- A flannel shirt and Converse sneakers like I usually do.
- A girly dress, to add a little rough edge.
- A skirt that you think is too short for you.
- Booty shorts in the dead of winter.
- Boots of any height, they look awesome tucked into boots.
- A long, embellished tank top.

Be careful about the undergarments you wear under these. They will show panty lines even if they don't show everything else.

Now, I usually don't fill out the experience section of my reviews because I don't have anything else interesting to add but this time I actually have a short story about these leggings to tell.
Earlier this summer, I was invited to go to a trance festival that I believed was to be held near the beach. I packed for the weather that I was anticipating, lots of shorts and tank tops. I packed these leggings along because I thought they would be fun to wear while dancing.
Well, it turned out I had wrong information and I ended up at a trance party/camping trip in the middle of the forest near a lake. As you can probably guess, it was cold out there. These leggings were the only article of clothing I brought other than colorful socks that would cover all of my legs!
So I wore these the whole weekend, and yes they were very fun to dance in. They weren't the warmest leggings I've ever worn but worn under shorts and a flannel shirt they kept me from freezing.
So, thank you Forplay Lingerie for saving me from freezing AND letting me look awesome while dancing with hippies!

It is seriously sad that Eden discontinued the black ones because they are my favorite but the red ones look pretty awesome and I still plan on grabbing a pair of those before they disappear.
These leggings have held up a whole year that I've had them and that's pretty impressive for clothing falling under the socks/tights/leggings category. Like I said, these are pretty tough.
