Lacy corset with matching g-string - corset discontinued by Music legs - review by Breas

The Lacy Corset with Matching G-String by Music Legs is available in sizes S-L. I usually wear a size XL but purchased the size large of this corset. I figured that I could loosen the lacing down the centre back of the piece to accommodate my width.

The corset arrived in a plastic packaging. There was no text or photos on the plastic. Inside of the bag, there was a plastic hanger to hang the corset up. This would be good to use to store the corset when you’re not wearing it. There was a cardboard tag attached to the corset that had a front view and back view of a model wearing the corset. The tag also stated the company name, product description, material composition, care instructions in symbols, and the company website.

The corset includes a matching g-string and 4 detachable, adjustable garter straps. The garter straps are already attached to the corset when it arrived. The cardboard tag states that the outfit is 100% nylon but the tag on the corset states that it is 100% polyester. It definitely feels like polyester rather than nylon. The material is not stretchy and it is not sheer. Loosening or tightening the lacing down the centre back can adjust the width of the corset.



I’ve taken a few measurements of the corset laying flat with the lacing done up the way it had arrived. The lacing down the centre back was done up tightly (so no gap between the lacing). If you need additional measurements, please send me a message and I will get them for you.

After looking at the stock photo, I realized that the corset I received is slightly different. The back of the corset is not a solid beige colour where the eyelets sit like it is in the stock photo. Also, the corset I received has a modesty panel (5 ½ inches wide) beneath the lacing down the centre back where as the stock photo doesn’t show this.



I didn’t know if it was just my corset that was different than the stock photo so I went over to AllyDVon’s review (well done by the way) of the corset and hers is different than the one I received too! The corset she received looks exactly like the stock photo. Then I seen her photo of the inside of the corset she received. It seems as though there is an elastic band running horizontally through the centre of the piece she received. Mine does not have this. She also lists the material as a nylon and spandex combination while the one I received is polyester. So I am going to assume that the company changed the style of the corset.



The garter straps are detachable and adjustable in length. If you need more length to your garter straps, you could always replace them with another set. I like to wear my corsets in public beneath a nice cardigan or similar item so I rarely get use out of the straps. The loops of fabric that hold the garter straps are on the inside of the corset so they aren’t noticeable if you choose to not wear them. The garter straps are also stretchy. They have a rubber backing and plastic clasps. There are no shoulder straps with this piece.

There are 2 closures to the corset: down the centre back, which is the lacing that looks like a black shoe string and the other closure is down centre front, which is a metal silver colour, busk. The busk has 6 hook and circular button closures. So the centre front of the corset is made of metal while the other 12 boning pieces are made of flexible plastic. There are 4 plastic boning pieces down the centre front, 1 on each side, and 6 down the back.

Both bottom and top of the corset is trimmed with black ribbon. The trim goes all the way around to the back of the corset. The ribbon is sewed horizontally through the half of the ribbon. The ribbon creates a ruffle type trim. The length of the ribbon is approximately just less than 1 inch in length, so half of this ribbon trim sits off the corset. The included g-string has the same matching pattern (tan/beige with a black lace overlay) on the front of it. The waistband is elastic band so it is really stretchy. There is no liner in the g-string.



There is a black bow made of ribbon at the top centre front of the corset. This bow is 2 ¾ inches wide and approximately 3 inches in length. There are another 2 black bows made of ribbon at the bottom of the corset right above the garter straps. These bows are the same size as the one at the top of the corset. The bows are only attached with a few threads so they could easily be detached permanently with a seam ripper if you so choose to.

Putting the corset on by yourself isn't difficult but it’s always better to have someone tighten the lacing down the centre back for you. When my partner isn't around, I just loosen the lacing down the centre back, try to wrap the corset around my body and see if I'm able to do the front hook and eye closures up. If I can’t- I’ll loosen the lacing a bit more and try again.

I’m 5’6 in height, wear a C cup, have 41 inch hips, and weigh somewhere in the high 160’s. You can see in the photos below that I was able to fit into the corset but I had to loosen the lacing quite a bit. The gap between the lacing was over 5 ½ inches wide so I didn’t use the modesty panel since it wouldn’t have completely covered my bare skin. There was still a bit of shoestring left to add more width if I needed to. If you purchase the corset and the shoestring isn’t long enough, you could always just replace it with a longer piece of ribbon.



There are no designated cups for your breasts so my chest fit fine. There is no padding or underwire but the material is thick enough so that you wouldn’t need to wear a bra and worry about nipple outline. The length worked well for me. Since I wear pieces like this out in public, I need them to cover my belly and most of my hips. This corset does that.

The corset is comfortable and well made. I didn’t notice any loose threads, etc. to the piece. I did not experience any skin irritation while wearing the corset either. The care tag states that it should be hand washed in cold water and hung to dry. The corset should not be ironed or bleached.

Overall, I like the corset but wish it was available in larger sizes. It’s just so pretty! I’ve deducted one star from the rating because of the lack of sizes available and the few stock photo differences.
