Wetlook boned bustier - bustier discontinued by Coquette - review by Karmababe

The Darque Bustier by Coquette is my first wet look piece and I'm fairly pleased with it, quality wise. It is just a top. They call it a bustier, but it doesn't boost anything. The straps were far too long, even when adjusted to the shortest setting. And the cups, while they were lightly padded and had under-wire, they were also HUGE. That's really saying something as I had thought this entire piece would end up being too tight as lingerie tends to run a little small. I'm normally about a 2X and this was a 1X/2X size top, and while it fit me everywhere else like it should, snug but not binding, my breasts were swimming in the cups! I have 42DD's so this was a first for me. Normally tops are too tight in the chest and loose elsewhere.

The bustier is made of super stretchy spandex and a very shiny nylon, which combine to give it the clingy, shiny "wet look". It has a zipper closure in back and 3 decorative buckles across the front--the buckles are non-functional--and adjustable shoulder straps. The cups are lightly padded and have underwire, and there is flimsy plastic boning around the waist to help shape it and hold it in place. I found no flaws in the material or stitching. It's really very nicely made, just very unproportionate. The straps, even tightened as far as they are able to be, still don't bring the top up to where it would have to be to give any kind of real support.

Care and cleaning of this is limited to spot cleaning/hand washing, and then laying flat to dry. It is not able to withstand machine wash or a heated dryer. As for storage, it came in a clear, sealed plastic bag. That is something you'll just want to toss. I advise hanging it in your closet or wardrobe to store it so that it will keep its shape.

I've found that this looks AWESOME, but only if I wear a corset style bra under it. This bra is easily hidden behind the existing straps and supports my breasts where the bustier didn't. It makes this piece look phenomenal! Totally love it now!
