Gathered mesh teddy - teddy discontinued by Coquette - review by liilii080

I'm not a ballerina and I'm not shaped like a ballerina but when I saw this Gathered Mesh Teddy by Coquette, I couldn't help but want my own, sexy Black Swan moment. I absolutely fell in love with the sexy, ruffled skirt, torso covering, gathered strip, and the halter style top. I worried that my small bust would get horribly disfigured or lost in the top, but I decided to give it a go and I'm not sorry I did.

The teddy comes packaged in a small, cardboard, wedge shaped box with a picture of the model on the front (the same one as the web page). There is no information on the box about washing instructions and it wouldn't be any good for storage so I just tossed it in the recycle bin.

Sizing- oh my! The size on the site says One Size Fits Most. The box on the front says One Size Fits Most. But, this puppy is NOT One Size Fits Most. I am a size 2/4 and weigh less than 130 pounds at 5 feet 5 inches, and this thing fit me very well. I don't believe I am sized like most so please keep this in mind before ordering. The fabric is an 82% Nylon/ 13% spandex mix so there is give, but not as much as say, a nylon body stocking. It will stretch a little with you, but not everywhere (more on that in a minute).

My bust is a 32B and the top actually fit me nicely as well. There was no boob smush or nipple peek-a-boo. The halter straps were fantastic because they were very stretchy and allowed me to tie the string tightly around my neck for as much lift as I wanted. Being able to tie the side strings also meant I didn't have the strings digging in to me and I could cover all the boob I wanted covered. Essentially, I was able to customize my cleavage and If more tops came like this, I would snap them up in a heartbeat. While the top would have looked better if my boobs were a little bigger, there is no underwire or support so this could be fairly uncomfortable for someone with large boobs to wear for a prolonged period of time. I think a 36B or 32C would probably be the ideal boob sizes to optimize this top. Any bigger could be uncomfortable and any smaller, you just don't look as voluptuous as the model (a small sacrifice for me because it fits!)

Here is another drawback to the One Size feature. I do have big thighs from years of soccer and running, but, as I said before, I usually wear a size 2/4 pants. Now the tutu/skirt piece is not nearly as flexible as I would have liked. There was a definite suck in, tip toed, wiggle maneuver that I used to get it up over the thighs and hips. In fact, I heard a little seam rip getting it up. Nothing actually tore and there is no visible damage but I was not happy that it wasn't as flexible as the tops' strings. Once the piece was on my waist, it sat comfortably and just as it was designed to, but getting there was a bit dicey. Also, I REALLY like these ruffles. They are incredibly soft and satiny feeling. The tag is sewn in this part as well and is visible through the micro mesh ruffle, but it can be easily removed with a seam ripper. I did not feel the tag when I was wearing this so it would be purely aesthetic reasons for removing it.

The thong piece is comfortable and entirely sheer like the mesh ruffles. It is also somewhat adjustable because of the stretch of the bottoms. It sat where it was supposed to and didn't ride too high or too low. Like Goldilocks, we were just right. I saw another reviewer that said her vaginal lips were poking out when wearing this. While the bottoms are cut thin, I did not experience any lip slips. Now there's no liner in the crotch so I would not recommend it for all day wear but a couple of hours of fun is no problem.

The torso piece fit well and was not awkward, you just have to be careful because when you bend it will buckle a bit with you. Overall, this piece is comfortable, not scratchy, and fit my body well. You could wear it a few hours without wanting to tear it off (but, your partner may have other ideas!)

Wash instructions say to hand wash and hang dry so this is what I did. You want to take care to hand adjust the ruffles because they could get wrinkled and lay funny if you don't rearrange them before they dry.

Experience:

As I said, this outfit is very comfortable and sexy. My partner's eyes nearly bugged out when I met him after work in this outfit. I styled it with some 5 inch patent stilettos, lacy, fingerless gloves, and bright red lipstick. I made sure not to knot the halter top to make sure it was easy to remove when the time came. The thong could be easily brushed aside if you didn't want to take it off altogether. Getting it back over the hips was my job so he didn't rip it to shreds. It did take some reverse maneuvering but there was no problem in the end. We were both pleased.

The only ways this piece could be improved are: 1- make it in more sizes, 2- make the hip skirt stretchier, and 3- make it open crotch. But, I love it, my partner loved it, and I am very satisfied with this purchase.
