Fully boned satin corset - corset discontinued by Coquette - review by Breas

The Fully Boned Satin Corset by Coquette is available in sizes S-XL. I had purchased the size XL. The corset arrived on a plastic hanger and the piece was surrounded by plastic. The only text or photos on the bag was a small barcode sticker. The hanger is excellent to use to store the corset when you are not wearing it.

There was a cardboard tag attached to the corset when it had arrived. The tag had a few photos of a model wearing the piece and stated the company name, website, product name, size, and colour. The corset does not come with a panty but you could match it with any pair of black underwear.



The care tag lists the material composition as 100% acetate, exclusive of trim. The material is not sheer, nor is it stretchy. The only areas of the corset that has stretch to it are the 2 panels at the centre back. There is 1 panel on each side of the hook and eye closures that can be stretched.

I’ve taken a few measurements of the corset laying flat, unstretched. If you need additional measurements, please send me a message and I will get them for you.

Chest (armpit to armpit): 17 ½ inches
Waist: 16 inches
Width at bottom of corset: 16 ¼ inches
Length (armpit to bottom): 12 inches
Length (down centre back): 10 ½ inches

There are 2 closures to the corset. There are hook and eye closures down the centre back, and a zipper down the centre front. There are 2 columns of eyes down the centre back that are 5/8 of an inch away from each other. There are 15 eyes in each column. The measurements that I had taken above were with the hook and eye closures done up on the loosest fit.

The zipper down the centre front has little sparkly gem accents on it. The zipper tab also has these accents on it. These gems really aren’t that sparkly. Some of them are actually very dull and almost dirty looking. Of course, that’s when I am looking at them up close. The accents are very small so if you’re wearing the piece out, or even in the bedroom, I doubt anyone will notice. The photo below makes the gems look sparkly than they actually are because of the flash.



The corset has 12 plastic boning pieces to it: 8 in the front, 2 in the back, and 1 on each side. 2 of the boning pieces in the front are actually half-bones. These 2 bones stem upwards from a longer, full boning pieces. The chest area of the corset does not have any padding or underwire.

There is ruffle trim along the top and bottom of the corset. The trim is approximately 1 ½ inches in length. The trim goes around to the back of the corset but ends where the stretchy panels beside the hook and eye closures begin. The stretchy area to the centre back of the corset is just a tad over 7 inches wide when it is not stretched.

There are no loops inside of the corset to attach garter straps or shoulder straps to. There is a matching garter belt sold here at EdenFantasys, but the zipper on the belt has to be pinned in order to stay zipped up. The zipper to the garter belt (sold separately) has the same rhinestone accents that the corset zipper has.

Putting the corset on is really easy with the zipper in the front. Just do the hook and eye closures up at the centre back and then zip yourself up at the front. When I tried the corset on, I had the hook and eye closures done up on the loosest fit. I wasn’t very happy with this corset after I had tried it on.

I’m 5’6 in height and this corset would work much better for those with shorter torsos. My belly, hips, and lower back all make an appearance while wearing this piece. You’ll have to excuse the chub trying to escape in the photos below.

What made the length worse for me was the fact that the bottom of the corset has a small width. The bottom of the corset was the tightest part of the piece on me. What this means is that not only will the short length reveal any muffin top you may have, but it also creates more by cutting into the area. You can actually see the “cutting in” in the first photo if you look closely at my hips where the doorknob is. My hip measurement is 41 inches.

My C cups fit well into the corset. The piece does give the wearer a nice amount of cleavage by pushing them upwards and in. Other than the corset being too tight at the bottom, the material is comfortable. The ruffle trim is very soft and non-irritating. The care tag states that the corset should be hand washed and I assume hung to dry.

Overall, I like the corset but it doesn’t fit me properly. The bottom of the corset is not wide enough for my hips. This isn’t a recurring issue for me with Coquette pieces so it’s definitely something with this specific piece and how it was made. I think it’s such a pretty piece so I’m extra disappointed that it doesn’t fit me nicely. I’ve deducted only one star from the rating because of the odd width at the hip area.
