Passionate pink chemise - chemise discontinued by Coquette - review by Lily Night

The Passionate Pink Chemise is a chemise made by coquette. The chemise is offered in sizes small through extra large. This review is for size large. It came on a silky black padded hanger with a little black ribbon bow tied onto the hook. Attached with a safety pin to one of the straps of the chemise was one tag with pictures of a model wearing the chemise shown from the front, back and side angles. The tag also lists the size and has icons for washing instructions. Attached to this safety pin was also a small plastic bag containing the straps for the garters.

This outfit is very frilly and feminine. The black lacy trim both on the bottom hem and on the top of the cups coupled with the bright bubblegum pink color is just perfect for a girly girl. The front has a panel of a more opaque material that is separated from the mesh sides by black piping that runs to the bottom of the cups. On my girlfriend, this piping is right on her sides, so the front is opaque but the sides and back are see through because of the fine mesh. The cups are lightly padded and have an under wire and are capable of providing some support. They are not pushups so the cups don't provide any extra cleavage. The cups run a bit small, and because of this the lace on top of the cups can occasionally be a bit itchy. There are 3 black bows made from satiny ribbon, one between the cups and one each at the bottom of the black piping down the front. Each bow is on a safety pin so that if the individual wearer isn't as much of a fan of bows as Coquette is, the bows can be easily removed or relocated without damaging the chemise. The straps are black, and split into a Y just before attaching to the cups. Where the two legs of the "Y" meet is another small black bow, this one sewn in place and therefore much more difficult to remove. The straps have small adjusters just like bra straps so that the length can be adjusted for maximum comfort. The straps are flocked on one side giving them a velvety texture. The straps are sewn on where they attach to the back of the chemise as well as the cups and are not easily removable. Also included are 4 garter straps that can be attached by hooking a little plastic hook into to loops sewn into the inside of the chemise. The back clasps with a hook and eye closure like that on a bra with two different sets of hooks and is a bit wider than the strap on an average bra. There are 3 tags attached inside the back, near the clasp. One is a ribbon tag that just says Coquette, one is a small tag listing the size, and the third lists the fabric, washing instructions and that the garment was made in China. The construction is excellent with no loose threads and quality stitching.

The chemise is made of 82% nylon and 18% spandex exclusive of trim. The tag says to hand wash only and to hang to dry. As usual, I feel it is probably a good idea to follow the manufacturer's instructions. The material is soft and silky against the skin and is not prone to wrinkling. This would make an excellent outfit for traveling.

It fit my girlfriend perfectly, hugging her every curve. Since she is smaller than what the size chart suggested for a large, it would probably be a good idea to order a size up if you are unsure of what size to get. Also, the cups were a bit small causing a bit of spill over for her D sized breasts. This means that this might cause some trouble for bustier ladies. She is 5 foot 4 inches tall and the chemise covered her butt, but left just a hint of cheek peeking out. As neither the back or front completely unclasp the best way to get into the chemise is to pull it over the head, since the waist is skinny it might stretch out if pulled up over the hips.

This chemise has quickly become one of our favorites. We like that it clings enough to show off curves, but still can smooth over any minor imperfections. The only reason that stars were deducted was the fact that the cups were a bit too small. Causing the lace to curl back a bit and rub and itch a little. Other than that, this is a great outfit that will hopefully last us a long time.
