Blushing brides gown and g-string - gown discontinued by Coquette - review by glassdoll

The Blushing Brides Gown and G-string looked like a perfect new addition to my growing lingerie closet. I am not fond of g-strings, but I thought I would give it a try anyway. The material is wonderful to hold and feels divine against my skin...as long as I am not running my fingers the wrong way and catching myself on it. It feels like a synthetic polyester. The gown moves beautifully; it is very flow-y and flirty and goes well with a sexy pair of heels. The detailing is also eye-catching with its delicate patterns.

The biggest issue with this gown was trying to fit my wonderful DDD-cups into something made for a B-cup or smaller. Despite ordering a plus-sized piece, the measurements of this gown did not work at all. The fabric simply stretched, and the straps allowed everything to droop. It appears that the models of this gown either have "Wonder Boobs" or are doing what I did - wearing a bra. The embroidery pieces sat snugly on my chest, and I felt like I had to constantly readjust everything in order to get the fit remotely right. The g-string was also definitely not plus-sized - I could not fit it over my thighs. The gown was simply not designed properly for a plus-size or seemingly for anyone with a particularly large chest.

I was incredibly disappointed in how poor the construction of the chest piece was. I was not expecting it to be like a bra, but I was hoping for something a little more substantial than pillow cases. It is a struggle to find beautiful pieces in plus-size lingerie, let alone pieces that fit well. This piece will languish away in my closet until I can decide what to do with it, unfortunately. C'est la vie.
