Night school - costume discontinued by Coquette - review by CynicallyYours

I bought the Night School costume by Coquette for a little roleplay fun with a partner and as a possible Halloween costume. I was a little worried about the quality and fit but was over-all mostly pleased.

The dress itself is actually rather good quality. The top part is thin but sturdy and the skirt is actually a fairly well made tweed like fabric. I was able to squeeze into the outfit but I would have been better served by a size bigger. I really wish they had released this one in a 3x/4x. I’m normally anywhere between a 18-22 depending very much on brand and style of clothing which is what Coquette calls their 1x/2x but I felt it ran a little on the small side. I broke the cardinal rule though, I did not focus on the most important area of sizing for this garment.

You’ll want to pay very close attention to the hip measurements. Most of the outfit is stretchy and offers some wiggle room but where the skirt starts there is no stretch at all so that will be your most important measurement. This is where I ran into trouble. I could get it on my hips but it was way too tight to wear comfortably. I ended up doing a little altering and made it work but I’m crafty. If you do not with you alter, make sure your hips fit the measurements on the sizing chart.

The set comes with some cute accessories. The panty and tube top are extremely cheaply made and I did not end up using them with the outfit. The skirted panty is quite cute though, I will likely use it on it’s own for bedroom play at another time. The tube top I found useless because it didn’t really fit my D cups in a flattering way. If you were smaller chested, I could see the tub top being of some use. Both are very cheaply made and pull on them will cause the seams to pop. I tend to keep things like that around for scenes where a partner wants to rip things off me. That way I don’t sacrifice garments I’m more attached to and they’re easy to tear off without injury. The attached mini tie and house pin are really cute and help to complete the outfit!

Whether or not you can wear this outfit outside the bedroom will depend a lot on how it fits you. I am very short (4’11”) with short legs and a short torso so the skirt is just long enough on me that I can get away with it, especially with opaque tights or leggings underneath. If you have a longer torso, you will probably find it’s a bit too short for polite society but perfect for the bedroom!

With most lingerie and costume pieces I default to the handwash setting on my washer or just hand wash and hang dry. It really helps to extend the life of these sorts of pieces. The whole thing is lycra and polyester so your best bet is tepid water and air drying.

All in all, I wish it had come in a larger size but for the cost, I think this is totally worth adding to your fantasy costume collection!

Not surprisingly, I don't get a whole lot of chances to wear this as it's more costume than lingerie. However, it's still a nice piece to have in my closet when I need a quick, sexy costume! I always get attention in this!
