Prep school girl - costume discontinued by Coquette - review by MissCara

As a plus sized girl, it's often hard to find cute costumes that look good on me. Manufacturers either think they can add 2 more inches of fabric and call it "plus size," or they make the outfit more like an over-sized sack of potatoes. Even though the picture of the "pus size" model didn't show the outfit nearly as flattering as the other model, I decided to give it a shot.

When I got the outfit, I was surprised that the "button down shirt" and skirt were actually sewn together as one piece. It made that part of the outfit more of a "tube top dress" than the shirt and skirt combo I imagined. Since I'm fairly small in the bust, the outfit was a bit loose on me at the top, but not so much that I felt like it would fall off of me while wearing it. The grey sleeved shrug that was included fit fairly well. I have large arms and almost always have problems with sleeved items fitting a bit snugly, so that was to be expected. I was still able to move my arms around without feeling restricted or that the outfit would rip. The velcro closure where the "neck tie" attached was a bit annoying because it was hard to get the tie to hang straight like I wanted it to, and usually wound up with it being crooked.

Overall, the outfit was comfortable and cute. The included bra and panties fit nicely. The bra was adjustable and tied in the back, so it should be able to fit a wide range of bust shapes. Even without wearing the bra the outfit was still cute and comfortable. It was even fairly modest enough (if you don't mind a slightly short skirt) that you would be able to wear it to a costume party or for Halloween without being too revealing.
