Lace top stockings black - thigh highs discontinued by Fantasy Lingerie - review by Breas

The Lace Top Stockings by Fantasy Lingerie are available in sizes S, M, L, 1X, and 2X. I usually wear a size XL but since the stockings aren’t offered in this size, I went with the size large. The stockings are available in the colours red, black, or white. I purchased the black stockings.

The stockings arrived in a thin cardboard package. The front of the packaging has a photo of a model wearing the stockings. The back of the packaging states the product name, size, colour, size chart, material composition, care instructions, company contact information, and company website. The back of the packaging also has a photo of a model wearing the stockings. I don’t find the flat package to be ideal for storing the stockings when they are not worn. I keep mine in my sock/stockings drawer. The packaging can be recycled.



Inside of the cardboard package, the stockings are wrapped around a thin piece of cardboard and surrounded by plastic. When I took the stockings out to look at them, I became angry. Firstly, the stockings I received are not the same stockings as the ones in the photo on the product page. The band is completely different. This isn’t what bothered me though. What bothered me was the fact that the product page says “silicone stay up”, yet there is no silicone on the inside of the band to hold the stockings up while wearing them.

The stockings are 100% nylon with a floral patterned lace band at the top of them. Like most stockings, the material is very stretchy in both width and length. I’ve taken a few measurements of the stockings laying flat but if you need additional measurements, let me know and I’d be happy to get them for you.

Lace band length: 2 ¾ inches
Lace band width unstretched: 7 ¼ inches
Lace bandwidth stretched as much as I could: 15 inches
Stocking length unstretched: 22 ½ inches
Stocking length stretched as much as I could: well over 60 inches

While the band to the stocking is different than the one in the stock photo, it’s pretty. I really like the floral pattern on the lace. The stockings are sheer black and the nylon is very thin. You’ll want to keep the stockings out of pets reach if you have any because the material picks up pet hair like crazy. The toe areas on the stockings are not reinforced.

The size chart on the packaging states that the size large (they call it size “C”) is best suited for those within the height bracket of 5’7”-5’11” and the weight bracket of 135-160lbs. I’m 5’6 in height so I’m just a smidge below the suggested height and I’m slightly above the highest weight in the suggested bracket. Like I had mentioned at the beginning of the review, I would have ordered size XL if they offered the size but they don’t. I figured that the size large may be a bit tight but I would prefer that than having the 1X be too baggy.

The length of the stockings was good for me even though I’m a bit below the suggested height bracket. Also, since there is no elastic band at the top of the stocking, I didn’t have the dreaded muffin top action going on (the band cutting into the fat at my thighs). The stockings were comfortable and the lace band is not itchy at all like some lace can be. I have no complaints about skin irritation while wearing them.



My biggest gripe with these stockings is that there is no silicone band at the top like it states on the product page. Without the silicone, the band rolls and the stockings fall down the leg. To avoid this, you can wear a garter belt with straps to hold the stockings up but it’s frustrating because when you purchase a pair of stockings that should stay up on their own, they should stay up on their own! Luckily for me I just recently purchased a garter belt so I’ll be able to wear the stockings but I’d much rather a pair of stockings that do not require garter straps.

The packaging states that the stockings should be hand washed separately in cold water and drop dried. Only non-chlorine bleach should be used when needed.

Overall, these stockings are nice but not what I was expecting. I’m giving these stockings a 2 out of 5 because while they are not terrible stockings, you are not getting what is stated on the product page. I’m sorry but don’t mess with my silicone bands!

I'm still so disappointed that there was no silicone band to these stockings like the product page says there is. They aren't bad stockings... but just be aware that you'll have to wear garter straps with them to hold them up on your legs.
