Vintage Rose bustier and g-string - bustier discontinued by Coquette - review by Pete's Princess

I was very excited about this. I had purchased a similar style from the Coquette's Spring/Summer collection and expected this to fit similarly. I was very disappointed that the cups were quite small for a large. The cups are more a B/C than a C/D. Also the cups were a bit squished in the box and have not bounced back to their original shape. If you are looking for a bustier to fit a smaller chest, I would recommend this one.

Design
The design is very flattering. The gathering down the center hides any flaws in your mid section. There is raspberry trim that separates the gathered mauve mesh from the darker mauve covered with lighter mauve rose-patterned fabric that goes around the sides and back. The cups are made of a padded molded foam. The foam is thicker on the bottom of the cup than on the top. The outside of the cups have the gathered mesh on the lower 2/3rds and the dark mauve covered with lace on the top 1/3rd. Between the two is the raspberry ribbon trim.


In between the cups is a 2" raspberry satin bow. Unlike most Coquette bows, this one is not removable. It is firmly sewn on and would take a seam ripper and a steady hand to remove it.


Around the bottom is the mesh material covered by the lace material and trimmed with the raspberry ribbon. Down the back is 16 hook and eye closures with two columns of eyes to select the best fit.


A panty is included. It is made of the see-through lace material and a darker mauve thread.

Actual Sizes for the Bustier
The straps are adjustable from 8" to 16 1/2". The straps are not removable and have plastic components. There are 4 garters. They are removable and adjust from 6" to 9".


Cups 5" high by 7" wide. They are thickly padded in the bottom half and thinly padded in the top half. The cups are molded.
Waist stretches from 29" to 34"
Hips stretch from 33" to 40"
Lenght down back 12"
Lenght down front center 13.5"

Packaging
The bustier comes in a clear plastic sleeve with Coquette written across the permanent gment sleeve. IT comes wit a hang tags from Coquette which is safety pinned to the bustier. You will also find a hang tag describing Coquette's commitment fot the save the Ta Tas Foundation. The garters are in an attached zip lock bag.


Material
This is 82% Nylon and 18% Spandex exclusive of trim. Nylon will melt when exposed to heat so never wash in anything but cold water. The washing recommendations are to hand wash only and hang dry. Do not bleach or put in the dryer.

These came packed with three other Coquette items. They were slightly squished in the box. The cup on the left side is mangled at the top and will not bend back into shape. I really love the look of this bustier in many ways. The color is great. It hides my tummy pooch. The fabric is soft and feels good against the skin of the wearer and anyone she might come into contact with.

It is very comfortable and looks great in all areas but the cup sizing. I take a medium in regular clothes but upsize due to having D cup breasts. I would say this is more for a B or C cup woman.

Overall the quality was good. There is one problem area. It is the foam material used for the cups. One of the cups came smushed in at the top. I tried to straighten it out but could not get it to mold back into place. Unfortunately since the cups are already too small, so I was not able to do much to cover up the damaged cup. I will have to return this for another one. Please be careful in where you store this item. You do not want your items to be damaged if tightly packed in a drawer.
As you can see this cup is bent out at the top. Instead of laying flat.

I am sending this back for a replacement so I just wore it to try it on. Therefore, I am not able to speak to wearing it during activities.
