Holiday corset - corset discontinued by Coquette - review by Pete's Princess

This is a beautiful black corset with sparkle.

Design
The body of the corset is black velvet material. There is a plunging sweetheart neckline, that will nicely show off your cleavage. The bottom of the front is a soft u-shape to cover any problem tummy areas. The front closure features 15 hook and eye closures down the front. There is a black satin ribbon modesty panel attached to the right side. The center 2/3 of the corset features a floral lace overlay with 96 reflective crystals attached to the lace. The sides and back are black velvet. Down the back are 11 silver metal grommets with black satin lacing. The lacing can be adjusted to the desired tightness. The lacing ties in the middle of the back. There is no modesty panel in the back. There are 10 plastic boning pieces in the corset.

There is no underwire or direct breast support. There is a cup area and you can adjust the lacing to provide some support. Being a D cup, I find that wearing the straps helps in giving the support needed.
The cup area appears to be suitable for full B to D cup ladies. Those with smaller breasts may find the top a bit too big.

There are two removable straps and 4 removable garter straps.

The ribbon will stretch approximately 7", so you will want to consider how much skin you would like to show when ordering. If you need more room, you can always lace up a longer ribbon.

Quality
The overall quality is excellent as you would expect from Coquette. The lace and crystals are well secured. There are no stray strings and all edges are professionally finished. There are two notable exceptions. First the ribbon down the back is a bit light and does not look as if it will hold up well long term, especially if you plan to cinch it tightly. On the good side, this is very easy to replace. The other downside, that was a problem with all the pieces with boning from this collection. The edges of the boning pieces are not well finished and a bit sharp. This may cause them to poke you or work their way through.

Material and Care
The corset is made of 100% polyester exclusive of the trim. Hand wash in cold water and hang to dry.

I normally order a large in Coquette items. However, I had this on my wish list for almost a year. When the medium came back into stock, I snapped it up. As with all corsets it is adjustable so fitting was not a problem, especially since there is no modesty panel in the back. If you are ordering a smaller size, you will want to take into account how much skin you are comfortable in showing down the back. I have given sizing with it fully laced. Personally, I like about 3" showing, so I subtract 3" from my measurements to see if the fully closed measurement will work.

Being this is low cut and there is no modesty panel in the back, some may not be comfortable wearing this out. Whether you wear it in our out, the crystals will sparkle and you will light up the room and your partner's eyes.
