extremely useful review
This is the first pair of Coquette panties I've ever tried, though certainly not my first Coquette product. I've gone just a little bit mad for their lovely chemises. When I saw these cute little undies out from them, I had no reservations about getting myself a pair as soon as possible. As I had expected, these are ever bit as adorable, flattering and durable as the chemises I've come to love from this company.

The Ruffled Mesh Panties come in your choice of black on black or red with black trim, and I opted for the latter. The red is not quite as orange-y as it appears in the photos, and in reality has a much cooler feel with bluish undertones. I much prefer this, as I think that orange-red color can look a little cheap sometimes when it comes to lingerie - that's just my opinion, though. These panties are constructed of a sheer, breathable mesh fabric that is comprised of 82% nylon and 18% spandex, with the exception of the bow, which is made from satin. The bow is stitched securely on, but if you're one of the folks with a distaste for an excess of frilly features like bows, you can easily remove this with a seam-ripper.

I typically steer clear of panties that aren't cotton unless I know I'll be wearing them for a short period of time, or they're made of something very breathable like wide-knit lace or a mesh like this. For those like myself that are prone to yeast infections, sometimes really gorgeous lingerie sets out of reach because they're made from stuffy, sweaty materials. Coquette does a great job of taking sex appeal, comfort and the health of the female body all into consideration here. This is a huge plus for me. I have no problems wearing these all day long. My only issue is that the panty liner appears to be 100% nylon which to me is a counter-intuitive move. Cotton is the most sensible and body-safe material for a panty liner to be made from, so that's the only improvement I might make on these.

All edges of the Mesh Panties are embellished with crinkled, ruffled, flirty trim. These little curls of fabric are stitched in a gathered, pleated fashion to the elastic waist and thigh bands, so their texture will stand up to many washes. I've had a lot of dresses and lingerie that I had to carefully hand wash or have dry cleaned in order for them to maintain their texture accents, but these are fantastically practical insofar as they are designed to hold up to regular day-to-day wearing and washing. Coquette recommends you hand wash these and hang dry them anyway, but I've had no problem machine washing these (on the delicates cycle in cold water) and just hanging them in my shower to dry. I wouldn't recommend any heavy wash cycle or throwing these in the drier, as the synthetic fabrics in these can melt or burn if you leave them in too long!

Lauren's wonderful review of these noted they run a bit small, and I would agree. I have these in a medium and find they run true enough to size for me, but I think the elastic band is what saves them in this respect. If you are on the small/medium side of your size spectrum, order in the size you typically do because the stretch factor will give you some wiggle room (literally). However, if you lean to the larger end of your size, I would err on the side of caution and order up a size. My hips are about 39" and I'm comfortable in these, but some of the ruffle is pulled straight due to stretching. If you want the FULL ruffle affect and like your undies more on the loose side, definitely order up.
Experience
Perhaps the best feature of these panties is the adorable ruching that runs vertically up the bum of these. It begins where the panty liner ends and runs all the way up to the top of the rear waist line. The cut of the Ruffle Mesh Panties is a cheeky bikini style. If you're on the slimmer side you'll get about half the coverage you would with regular bikini shorts, though if you have a more ample butt the coverage will probably be much closer to a generous thong cut. All in all the ruching is very flattering to just about anyone's butt. If you have a slimmer figure, the ruffles and ruching add a little texture and volume, which creates an illusion of thickness. However, unlike rhumba shorts, it won't pack on padding, so if you're self-conscious about having a larger butt you'll still look and feel gorgeous in these.

I couldn't be happier with these. I've washed them a few times already and they're still looking and feeling great (they actually feel a bit softer after a washing). I'm looking forward to trying more panties from Coquette if they're at all like these, because I can't find ANYTHING bad to say about them other than that the panty liner should probably be cotton. Oh, and that the care tag is itchy and I had to cut it out. But that's it! Otherwise, a well deserved 5 stars!

Illusional, the Coquette website actually does carry an XL although EF doesn't. You could probably send them and email and find out where you can get a hold of an XL pair!

Great review! Coquette usually does it for me. It's great when we can find sexy panties that can be worn for a period if time.
I will try small this time as I think Coquette has adjusted its sizes; could be just me, though
