Chemise padded cups - chemise discontinued by Coquette - review by Femme Mystique

I am amassing plenty of black lingerie at this point, so I decided to branch out a little bit when I found this pretty white chemise from Coquette. The chemise is a beautiful white stretch mesh with lace accents, and it is made with 82% nylon and 18% spandex (the product page says cotton and polyester), making it very stretchy. Both the lace and mesh are somewhat delicate, so trim those nails before putting this one on.



I ordered a medium in this garment and was pleased with the fit. Coquette's Size Chart is below, with my measurements in parentheses.

Cup: B (32D)
Bust: 36-38" (36" at widest point)
Waist: 26-30" (26")
Hip: 38-40" (36")

I do think that this chemise runs small in some areas and large in others. I think the cups are pretty roomy, so though it may fit a larger B OK, it is a better fit for a C cup to a small D. In terms Coquette's suggestion that it will fit an 8-10--I would probably size up for a 10. This will fit a size 6 comfortably, but someone who is an 8 to 10 might find the midsection of the medium uncomfortable or unflattering.

This chemise is well-designed and constructed and has many really nice embellishments throughout. One of the really nice features of this chemise is the cups. They are underwire cups that are very lightly padded. The foam padding is very soft and flexible, and the inside liner is made of comfortable cotton jersey. The front side of the cups are gathered mesh on the inner parts that meet where the cups come together and white lace on the outer half, near the arms. The lace continues from the outer half of the cup all the way around the back to where the back hooks together, which is a bra-type clasp with two sets of hooks and eyes and three size settings.







Between the cups there is a removable thick white satin bow with a rhinestone at the knot. The bow pins onto the front of the chemise, but it looks lovely without it as well. On the front of the chemise are princess seams the run from the cups to the lace hem. I found them to be slimming and very flattering. On the underside of the lace hem, the removable garters line up with the princess seams, making it look like one clean line on each side of the front of the chemise. There are garters in the back as well, though there are not seams to match up with like the front.





The garters are some of the nicest garters I've received with lingerie thus far. They are white to match the chemise and have a textured striped pattern on them. The clips are metal and there are white satin ribbons to cover the clips. The garters are very adjustable as well as very stretchy, and they are 6" unstretched at their shortest and 9" unstretched at their longest. At the bottom of the chemise is a thick lace seam, which has bits of metallic thread in it, giving it a little extra glamor.






I appreciated the overall length and fit of this garment. I'm 5'6" with an average torso, and the chemise was long enough to cover everything. The front is 21" from the middle of the cups to the bottom of the seam and 19" in the back from the top of the bra clasp to the bottom of the seam.







The chemise ships on a padded white satin hanger, which is good for storing this chemise. To care for this item, hand wash only in cold water with a mild detergent and hang up to dry. Underwear was not included with this chemise.

This chemise already has a lot of detailing, so a lot of accessorizing isn't necessary. It would look fabulous with white stockings and light colored shoes--perhaps a metallic silver to match the accents on the chemise. White is pretty often favored as bridal lingerie, and this would work well for that purpose, but those of us with no wedding plans in the near future can enjoy this garment as well.

This has unfortunately now been discontinued, which is a shame. I think it's a really lovely chemise that will be very festive for winter.
