Beer maiden - sexy costume by Coquette - review by XxFallenAngelxX

I have a lot to say but this section only allows 800 words, so here it goes...

I purchased the beer maiden costume from Coquette in the 1X/2X size. It is made from a few different types of fabrics such as Pleather, velveteen, cotton, spandex, and this is from me researching.
I give it 5 stars and my fabulous 2 thumbs up. If I missed additional measurements trying to save word space, send me a message to grab what you need.







Dress part
The skirt portion is velveteen and measures 15 inches long until it meets the eyelet lace trim. The trim is 1 inch in length. The apron is sewn on and feels like a satin material. The apron is 9 inches long and 13 inches wide. The middle of the dress that is connecting the skirt to the eyelet top is spandex and it measures 6 and 3/4 inches long, unstretched and 10 inches long, stretched. It measures 20 inches wide unstretched and 24 inches wide stretched. The eyelet lace top is only on the front portion of the dress. The back is all spandex and very stretchy. The top measures 9 inches long and this part does not stretch. The ruffle elastic along the top does stretch. The sleeves are the same eyelet material as the top. The sleeve openings are 5 inches unstretched and 12 inches stretched. Total stretched circumference is 24 inches around.
There is a pleather belt made onto the dress part that has suspenders attached to it. The pleather part is only on the front of the dress. The back part of the dress is a brown spandex type material. The pleather belt measures 4 inches long and it measures 21 inches across. The suspenders are in two pieces on each side.
The front part of the suspenders are 12 inches long. This is the part that includes the metal clip to hold the back suspender piece on. The front pieces are removable and are attached by gold/brass looking buttons. The suspenders have a opening of 1 inch to fit onto the button. The front suspender part can fully removed. The back suspender part is 28 inches in length. There are two floral type decorations on the front of the belt. They feel similar to a felt and they are sewn on. There is a trim along the bottom of the velvet skirt part that matches the ribbon on the choker. The ruffle on the bottom of the skirt is the same as the sleeves and the top and the ruffle around the apron. There is no petti skirt underneath.
Vest
The vest measure 7.5 inches in length at the lace up area. From the tops of the straps, it measures 15 inches in length. At the top of the straps are two piece sewn on to run the suspenders through for a better hold. The vest measures just a little shy of 20 inches wide. The front of the vest is velveteen, where the back is the same spandex material in black.
There are 12 eyes total on the lace up part on the front. There are 6 eyes on each side. A black satin ribbon is used to lace it up. The vest is trimmed with a red satin fabric along the full seams. Also on the front of each collar bone area is the same eyelet lace as on the dress. Each lace area measures 6.5 inches. next to the laces, there is the same floral ribbon that runs along the dress and on the choker.









Choker
The choker is satin and a floral jacquard ribbon. The length is 25 and 3/4 inches long. The front part of the satin area of the choker measures 1.5 inches. The smaller portion of the ribbon measures 3/8 inch.






Sizing
I ordered the 1X/2X size and it seems to fit true to size. I know this because any of the Coquette items that I order always run big for me along the waist and they are a bit long on me because I am so short. (5'2")
A person who is on the smaller end of the 3X size may be able to fit into this with no problems. The stretchy parts along the waist area were very loose on me. (My waist 37-37.5 inches) If your waist is a little larger, this should fit fine. The skirt part has a ton of room so if you have a very full behind or thick thighs, this skirt will fit and cover making you seem smaller.

Continued-
The vest part really slimmed my chest down because of the velveteen material. I may need to adjust the laces tighter which are easy to adjust. The suspenders slide back and forth with ease. The metal is not a cheap, thin metal, it seems standard. The buttons for the suspenders seem like a very lightweight plastic. The pleather feels at about a level 5 thickness on a 1-10 scale. The apron has a very soft, satin material. The eyelet fabric is the roughest fabric used on this costume. It does give a little itchy feeling but not much, it mainly came from the elastic on the sleeves. The velveteen is soft but a thicker velvet, it attracts lint, strings, and animal hair so keep it up away from them. The velvet is the thickest fabric on the costume. It comes a bit wrinkled, so be sure to hang it up for a day or so before wearing it out.










I like the ruffle on the bottom of the skirt a lot.




Care
The tag inside states to Handwash only and to hang to dry. With so many materials, I wouldn't take a chance on washing it any other way. I would use cold just to make sure that there is no color fading.

Verdict
I like this costume and so does my partner. I give it 5 stars but I plan to make it fit me tighter with a few stitches.

This is still a very cute outfit. It isn't my usual style of wear but this one stood out above the other beer costumes. I am glad that I purchased this particular one.
