A Little Bit of Bliss

The Bliss Massager is a great toy for use on the clitoris, nipples, or anywhere else you can think of. The vibrations are moderately intense, and I think a lot of people will find it comfortable to use. I didn't appreciate the super drag of the material, but I liked the colour coordination. If it was a bit stronger, this would have been my new go-to toy.

Use

The Bliss Massager is a clitoral vibrator intended for external stimulation. Don't worry though, gentlemen--this toy would also work really well on the testicles or penis, as well as on the nipples--but because it has such a narrow tip it's really better for people that need pinpoint stimulation.

Material / Texture

Bliss is made of both silicone and plastic; the majority of the toy is plastic, but the tip is made of a soft, very matte silicone. The control panel is also made of silicone, as is the dividing line between the top and bottom of the toy. The top of the toy, which features the control panel, has an inset line that houses the lights; the tip is also patterned with a bullseye-style pattern that provides extra stimulation.

Design / Shape / Size

The design reminds me a little bit of the Luxe Rejuvenate or a mini computer mouse. It conforms easily to the shape of your hand. It might just be because I have small hands, but it wasn't as comfortable in use as I hoped it would be; because of how I was using it, I had to move my hands a little farther down on the toy so I wouldn't accidentally push the pattern button in use, which was NOT ergonomic. Your experience may be different, though, and couples using this won't have any issues.

Bliss is a very small, very discreet toy--it's only 4 1/2" by 2", making it perfect to slip into a pocket, purse, or piece of luggage. Unfortunately there's no travel lock, and it's a little easy for the buttons to be accidentally pressed during transportation, so I'd recommend caution if you're taking it along with you somewhere.

It's designed to be totally discreet, including how quiet it is--when you have a television on, or music on, you can't hear it.

For size comparison, beside the MiMi.

This is a rechargeable toy, and it comes with its own charger that is inserted into the end of the toy; it has one of those fancy schmancy charging ports that prevents water from entering even though there's no cover over the port.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The toy is controlled by an easy to use control panel on the top of the toy--and it's good that it's easy to use, since it doesn't actually come with instructions. The control panel has three buttons, + o -, that turn the toy on, turn the toy off, and allow you to use the patterns. To turn the toy on, just hit the + button and away you go. It has four intensities, ranging from gentle to moderately strong, that are indicated visually with the lights on the body of the toy--one purple light for the first, two for the second, and so on. Predictably, you can turn the toy down by pushing the - button, or turn it off entirely by holding the - button for two seconds.

The toy comes with several different patterns, accessible by the o button, which are all colour coded, so that if you don't remember what number it was you can just skip to the correct colour. The patterns match the intensity you were on before you switched to the pattern mode, but unfortunately you can't change the intensity without switching out of pattern mode. At least it does afford you the ability to choose the intensity you want with the pattern you want.

The patterns are

o A slow dash mode
o A fast dash mode
o A medium rev, from slow to fast
o A slow rev
o A fast fast slow pulse mode
o A kind of manic mode, which goes from a rev to a faster rev, to a slow rev, to pulses, to a series of quick revs

To get back to the steady vibrations, you just hit the o again. The vibrations are focused on the tip, though you can feel them gently throughout the whole toy.

Care and Maintenance

This toy is pretty easy to care for; it's waterproof so you can wash it off in the sink with antibacterial soap and water. Unfortunately, since it's partially plastic, it cannot be completely sterilized so I do recommend fluid bonding it to a single person. I did have a few issues with cleaning this toy, because the seam around the center, and the recess for the lights, collected fluids and I had to scrub it out. I also had issues because the seam on one side actually detached partially so that it was even MORE of a pain to clean. It doesn't effect the toy or how it works, but it is a consideration.

Because this toy contains silicone, it can only be used with water based lubricants.

Packaging

Bliss comes in really high quality, classy packaging. It has the outer box, which contains a photo of the toy and some info about the toy, including very basic instructions on how to use the toy. Next is an inside box, which features the same basic info as the outside box, with a clear window so you can visualize the toy inside. When you pull the top off, the toy is nestled inside with the charger. It's a really luxury experience, and I appreciated it greatly because I purchased a second Bliss as a gift, and the recipient was really impressed when opening it.

Personal comments

For me, even on the highest intensity, this wasn't strong enough for me--in a comparison with the MiMi strength, for example, it was about a 3-4. I think that for a lot of users, this will be more than enough--just not for me. I was also a little frustrated with how draggy the material was on the tip--even with lube, it was a little difficult to move the toy around--especially since the bullseye pattern ate up lube.

Experience

The first Bliss I received was a lemon that didn't turn on; the subsequent one I received, as well as the one I purchased for a friend, both worked.

I also thought it was weird that this toy didn't have any instructions, so I actually contacted NS Novelties and was told that, yes, they weren't included in the first batch of Bliss Massagers. I asked them if they could send me a copy, and they were happy to oblige.

The instructions have been included below, though slightly abbreviated because they also included instructions for the Muse vibrator:
