Basic Vibrations for the Beginner

This toy, despite the satisfaction it gave me was retired as soon as I saw it leeching oils. I would recommend even beginners spend a bit more on their first toy for a safer material. The reward is not worth the risk.

Use

This is one of the first toys I owned worthy of review. This toy provided good clitoral vibrations and brought me to many orgasms. It is not safe for anal use due to the lack of a tapered base, and is made of plastic which is not a safe material.

The soft texture conceals the hard casing of the vibe which is waterproof. A plastic o-ring protects the battery compartment from moisture. Just make sure that it is properly in place. This toy can be used with water-based or silicone-based lubes, however I would not recommend oil-based as mine showed discoloration after I tested it.

Material / Texture

The material is a porous plastic that had a light scent to it at first. Over time I noticed that despite frequent cleaning the toy picked up smells from scented or flavored lubes and an odd plasticky smell. It was not sticky but silky smooth and had a slight dragging feeling to it when I ran my fingers over it. The texture was nice for a beginner but with time (about eight months after purchase) I noticed that the material was not safe, as inside the battery compartment a thick dark oily substance had began to ooze. I had removed the batteries after each use so they wouldn't drain, so I know it wasn't battery acid, nor corrosion of the contacts.

Use a condom or toy cover over this toy! I cannot emphasize this enough.
    • Bumpy
    • Light odor
    • Porous

Design / Shape / Size

The size of this toy is meant for beginners, and it's decently powerful for its size. For one AA battery it is rather strong, and a good starting point for women to get used to insertable sex toys. It has a somewhat discreet shape but I doubt you'd be able to pass it off as anything but a sex toy. It is small enough to hide easily under the edge of a mattress, in a box by the bedside, or in a purse. This toy would likely be unsatisfying to the more experienced users due to its small girth and length.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The vibrations run down the entire length of the toy. The control is a switch you twist around the base which can be hard to turn at first. This intensifies the vibrations but the settings lack variety. This toy is a bit noisy and I would not recommend using it without some background noise if you live with others. Underwater it's a bit quieter, but still could use a bit of cover. (It cannot be heard over the shower; perhaps I am a bit paranoid about noise levels of toys.) This toy goes through batteries quickly and I ended up buying a battery charger just to keep up with it.
    • Battery guzzler
    • Not enough variety

Care and Maintenance

This toy is made of a porous plastic and must not be shared with others because it may harbor bacteria. Water-based and silicone-based lubes are safe for use with this product, though scented lubes may leave an odor. It can be cleaned with antibacterial soap and water. It should be stored alone as a precaution against interactions with other materials. This toy can emit chemicals over time.
    • Hard to clean
    • High maintenance
Follow-up commentary
Dead, gone and discarded. I was never able to hear back from the manufacturers and this was the scariest experience I ever had with a toy. I don't think I will be purchasing a replacement to test if mine came out of a bad batch. My advice is to save your money and look elsewhere. Toys are wonderful things and there are many good options on Eden. This isn't one of them.

Actually, plastic is an 8 on the safety scale (out of 10) so it is safe as long as you clean it properly.

@ Zombirella I washed it with a mild soap and water well after each use. I may have been a bit harsh on it but it did ooze inside the casing after a year.

Wow, that's...creepy/weird that it did that. Was it the batteries?
  • Contributor: Mirachaya
@ Zombirella I took them out between uses. It didn't appear to be any of the metal contacts inside the battery casing corroding either. The greasy oil came off the plastic. It had a sickeningly sweet jel rubber scent. It was pretty scary. I'd used the toy with latex condoms thankfully. I don't even want to think about what it could have done to my insides. Perhaps I should contact the manufacturer. Mine may have been an abnormality, but I figured it was best to review honestly on EF. I don't want anyone getting hurt by a potentially unsafe toy.

Wow, I can't believe that. It's good that you caught it before it got onto or...into you! Wow. That's not good at all!

@Zombirella I tried contacting Cal Exotics last week, no news so far. :/
