Did NOT live up to sky-high expectations

This toy is better in reverse than forwards. Turn the vibrating end towards your ass, line the smaller ridged piece up with your clitoris, and try that way. It is better than doing it the way the manufacturer intended.

Use

Ripple 1

This toy has a pretty simple idea: stimulate a woman’s three most sensitive areas at once. It is a genius idea, but harder to execute than it sounds. The main shaft in the middle is meant to penetrate the vagina and reach that deep G-spot, while the vibrator massages the clitoris and the subtle shorter shaft probes the back door for added stimulation. However, you are about to learn how well it doesn’t work on some women.

Material / Texture

The material is super-safe silicone, with no taste or smell, soft to touch, but firm for good thrusts. The fact that the material isn’t too giving is what makes it so good at stimulation, and makes it pretty good for a cautious beginner to try.

Design / Shape / Size

The design was genius, but it is hard to make a one-size-fits-all toy like this. For example, the shaft is the right length for internal stimulation, and the ribs add texture to the experience, but the vibe is held too far away to stimulate the clit without impaling yourself way too uncomfortably past the final large ridge. Believe me, when that last dip is what is entering and exiting you way too fast, you will be in painville. Also, the design allows a flaw in the anal stimulator. It is too flimsy to properly stimulate the back area, and too short to reach it anyway.

I’m also too scared to be rough with the toy, because the back end seems barely to hold on, and seems likely to break off before it does me any good. The design, as an idea, is flawless, but to make it a reality one would have to custom-order the size. This is definitely a toy idea that will take off in the future, after some improvements are made. This picture shows me putting very little pressure on the anal probe and it bending like a twig. Right now, this particular model is not to my liking.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The best part about the toy was the center shaft. The extra wide handle allowed my partner to ram it into me at incredible speeds. The other two “stimulating” bits were more distractions than anything else. The toy's overall performance was substandard.

On the bright side, the bullet vibe is powerful enough to shake the whole setup, so you can get some distant pleasure from it without needing direct contact. Also, the bullet vibe's push button for 7 different speed controls is great! We are going to be looking into ways to use this bullet separately from its lame counterpart and still get lots of excitement from it!

Care and Maintenance

This toy is described as waterproof, meaning you can use this toy in the tub, or at the pool (why would you?), and can wash it with soapy warm water without fear of damaging the batteries. Of course, you should always remove batteries from any toy before washing it, waterproof or not. Because of its material, this toy is easy to care for and store in the average toy box.

Packaging

The packaging of the toy was flashy, with a visible window, a “feel me!” portion of silicone to touch, and large bright letters on a white background describing how exciting the toy is. The internal plastic lining can be used for storage, and I would recommend that to avoid an accident in the toy box that might cost you this flimsy anal probe. The box cannot be used as a gift box, but I would definitely keep the toy in the box if giving it as a gift. Just wrap it nicely.

Here is a reminder of how small, flimsy, and not-far-reaching the backdoor explorer is:

Personal comments

When I received my toy, I was sad to see that the watch batteries which came with it were not too pretty. One was already corroded. We had to order more on Amazon.com, and were lucky to find a set of 10 for only $1.50 with free standard shipping.

Experience

When we played with the toy for the first time, it did not impress. It stimulated 1/3 of the areas advertised, and did not seem to be sturdy enough to last long.

The only good news I have for you is my husband found a nice unexpected surprise while we played with it. He got adventurous and tried putting it in me in reverse, with the flimsy probe rubbing my clitoris and the vibrator pressing against my ass. That was the best feeling I got from the toy and it helped me to climax faster. Still, a toy should not have to be used in reverse to be any good.

It was impressive that the toy could be used roughly, and that the bullet vibe was amazing, but beyond that I feel entirely disappointed.

Thanks for the great review and pics! I think you nailed it: it's a great IDEA, but still too "1.0". I hope there will be better versions of this in the near future, or at the very least, more sizes to choose from.
