German Engineering Scores AgainThe Nagi is the perfect toy to replace your old traditional vibrator at a reasonable cost. Versatile, easy to use, and handsome in design, this does everything a traditional vibe should do.
Relatively inexpensive, hygienic, and a good variety of vibrations.
Not great for g-spot stimulation or deep penetration.
The Sin Five Nagi is most definitely a toy designed for clitoral stimulation with a little bit of penetration thrown into the mix. The straight shaft of the toy is not especially long for deeper penetration or g-spot stimulation. The silicone of the toy distributes the vibrations nicely along the whole length, allowing for very pleasurable sensations when it is used both on the clitoris and inserted. This toy is definitely great for solo play or even play with a partner, but is definitely one that is almost exclusively designed for female anatomy (though it could probably be used on nipples and other parts of the body with ease as well).
The Nagi is made out of silicone and is non-porous, but still nicely flexible and soft feeling. The toy is completely smooth save for an octopus design near the controls of the toy (likely there to help you from inserting things too far) but has a very comfortable feel to it that we found to be superior to the standard hard plastic or jelly traditional vibes that we have had in the past. The silicone did not have a noticeable smell or taste to it really. As with any silicone product can be easily washed with soap and water if it did pick up any scent from the packaging.
The design is pretty simple though, in this toy, that is just perfect. It looks like a traditional vibrator with a straight shaft tapering to a nice rounded end. The motor of the toy rests near to the base where the controls are. Rather than having a dial or noticeable switch the Nagi simply has a '+' and '-' button that can be used to either cycle through its various functions or turn the toy on and off. While I doubt anyone would confuse this for anything other than a sex toy the sleek design of the toy does appeal aesthetically--it has the look of a high end vibrator and not just a novelty. The size of the toy is not immense, but given that the Nagi functions best externally or with some moderate penetration this is just fine and should be comfortable for nearly any woman to accommodate with ease.
The controls on the toy are a simple plus and minus button that cycle through the numerous settings of the Nagi. My partner and I were surprised at the variety that is packed into the toy though if you have a favorite setting halfway through the cycle and want to get to something else it may be a little bit of a pain having to cycle through the intermediate settings. The vibrations range from mild to pretty intense for a toy with only 2 AA batteries and the cycles including pulsing and ramping vibrations as well. On a number of the more powerful settings the toy does put out a reasonable amount of noise so if privacy is an issue this toy may not be a first choice, but the variety of options does allow for lots of choice in finding the right vibration speed. The toy is waterproof though we only tried it in the shower. Like many waterproof toys I would be hesitant to immerse it fully underwater for a long period of time, but it seems well constructed and can probably handle sessions in the bath.
The Nagi comes in a relatively handsome set of packaging so if you want to store it in its original box that works perfectly well. Unfortunately, it does not come with a small slipcase like some toys but otherwise it is not a huge size and relatively easy to find a spot for. Since it is made out of silicone, it is easy to clean and can be cleaned with any toy cleaner or soap and water. I would recommend against boiling (as can be done with any silicone dildos) because of the vibrator inside the toy, but certainly dipping the shaft into boiling water would work as long as the motor and battery pack were not fully immersed.
The packaging for the Nagi is a nice cardboard case with a very clean modern design to it. The case can easily double as a storage device for the toy and while it is not as durable as some storage options will certainly hold up for a long time. The toy comes with an extensive instructions packet in just about every language you can imagine. It covers the basic use and functions of the toy well. The Nagi also comes with a pair of AA batteries though in the case of ours they were dead on arrival, but at least you have the possibility of being able to play right out of the box with nothing else needed (except maybe a little lube).
We got the Nagi in "candy floss" pink and is exactly what we have always wanted in a standard vibrator. It is versatile, handsome looking, easy to use, and not tacky or cheap like our first standard vibrator. If there ever was a toy that would strike me as a good choice for a first time buyer of sex toys, this is the one. It is easy to use, of high quality, and provides variety at a relatively affordable price point. While we have only had it for a few weeks the construction seems very high quality and will likely be a go to for my partner for solo play and for us to share on her when we play together!
Follow-up commentary 15 months after original review
The SinFive Nagi has performed nicely for us ever since we got it. The more we have explored sex toys the more we are happy to find ones that fill a particular niche better than the rest. The Nagi has been the go-to toy for us when it comes to warming my partner up. It gets her ready for other toys and penetration and has a range of vibrating functions that makes it always exciting to play with. It is definitely easy to clean and has remained odorless since we got it. The only minor issue we have had with it is that occasionally the '-' button which is supposed to cycle backwards through the functions and turn the toy off, will not turn the toy off. It is easy enough to just unscrew the battery cover slightly to stop the toy, but is not exactly how the toy was designed. Other than that minor issue though, the toy has performed perfectly, and we would definitely still recommend it to any woman or couple looking for a great long-lasting introduction to sex toys, or anyone looking to replace their first basic plastic/jelly traditional vibe.
